The culprit is Ichiro Tamaki. His intentions wasn't to kill his father but only destroy the old bookstore that Yujiro wanted not closed. The father and son reconcile and together they open a book café.

• The Whistling Bookstore 2 is a sequel of this episode.
• The ambulance with license plate number 新宿 800, ひ 47-62 (Shinjuku 800, Hi 47-62) reappears in Conan Disappeared on the Cliff, but this time there is a mistake with 神奈川, instead 新宿.
• The truck is a 2007 Nissan Atlas [F24].
• At the beginning, when the Detective Boys are helping push the cart, Conan's location changes from one scene to the next.
