Not only was the eatery one of Kogoro's watering hole, they learned that he was present there the night of the murder. Upon questioning, it appears that Kogoro could provide alibi for the accused, who also turned up the same evening at the eatery. Kogoro's evidence was based on the time shown on his mobile, when he was woken up from his drunken nap by the proprietress to receive an incoming call. Conan however, noticed that Kogoro's mobile was always kept in his coat which was always hung on a rack when he patronized the eatery. He also noticed that it was the proprietress who brought the ringing phone to him when he was in a drunken stupor.
