Emergency Situation 252/Gallery

This is a gallery of images for the two part Episode Emergency Situation 252.

  Conan, Ayumi, Genta, Mitsuhiko, and Ai also known as the Detective Boys are discussing how Conan arrested a heinous criminal in Wimbledon, London. Mitsuhiko checks on his phone to see if it made the news - which it hasn't but there is news about a boy from Japan who yelled out and disrupted the match!

  Genta notices that the newest Yaiba figurine is on sale today. Him along with Ayumi and Mitsuhiko are amazed.Whilst the three are staring Ai is annoyed at Conan for not listening to her advice and taking the antidote when he wasn't supposed to to confess his love for Ran.

  "Right now you can only temporarily return to that body by taking a pill. Under such conditions what would happen if you confessed to the one who's been waiting in vain? You even told me once before yourself. She'll want to meet you even more than before and you'll end up hurting her instead! Don't forget your existence is one where taking center stage is forbidden. So until the time comes, you must forever continue to hide."

  Their conversation is interrupted by Ayumi, Mitsuhiko and Genta how want to play kick the can because Genta finished his juice.

  Genta shows them a place where he thinks is great to play it as there's no one there. Conan recalls this is a building that's scheduled to be demolished next week but he finds it careless how they'd leave the shutters open.

  Once inside the game starts. Conan's "it" and had to count to ten. To be fair he did tell them to let him know right away if they found any suspicious people or objects and "after the play one round, they'll probably get tired of it".

  Conan has found Ai, Ayumi and Mitsuhiko. Genta's the only one left and only the third and fourth floors are left for searching.

  Just before Conan sets off to find Genta. Genta contacts Conan via the Badge Device to say that someone is in the building! Genta heard a sound like someone pounding on a wall.

  "It sounded twice, then five times, twice again and then stopped." Conan and Mistuhiko both realise that 252 is the number for when someone is in need of rescue and are unable to flee. Mitsuhiko tells the group it's a radio code used by the Tokyo Fire Department and that his sister taught him. Also 254 is the code for those on standby to wait in place. After Ayumi panics they decide to go to find Genta together.

  The group find Genta and then find the room that the noise is coming from. They find two men who claim they are going to demolish this building, so they're striking the walls to inspect their strength and that they accidently starting striking the beat of a song. So what Genta heard was just a coincidence

  Conan asks why there are two men but there are three lunch boxes. The second man says that the man with glasses ate two of the lunches. Then he reminds the kids that they are not allowed here, so they should leave. Before they go Conan asks one last question about the amount of explosives the men'll be using to implode the building. They reply that they don't know for sure but the building is pretty big so it will take a good amount.

  After going away from the room, Ai says there won't be any building implosion. "When demolishing buildings it's usually done by either setting heavy machinery on top of the building and demolishing it from above or from the side. All the more so if it's a building in the city center. It's not like how they do it in foreign countries. In Japan, there have only been a few building implosions so far."

  Mitsuhiko, Ayumi and Genta argue that "But the Haido Art Mueseum was demolished using the Professor's bomb, the tropical rainbow." But Conan says "it was combined with an event and since the buildings near that art museum were all abandoned, special permission was given. The bomb was only his gimmick to emit seven colors after the actual explosives were set off." Ai adds that "the art museum was much larger than this place and if it wasn't imploded it would've been too costly".

  Since there are still buildings in use right next to this one, it would be impossible for it to be imploded. And one needs to cross-check and thoroughly examine the building's construction blueprints in order to fine-tune the amount of explosive power and it's placement. That's why it can't be done using just a hammer without any machinery. So those men disguised themselves as demolition workers and are confining someone here... Which means they're a couple of bad guys! There's no doubt they'e hiding someone. There were boxed lunches for three people. There were three sets of used disposable chopsticks. If one person had gobbled up two of them... Why would he have changed his chopsticks? So the 252 was the confined person hitting the wall as an SOS when they heard the kids play kick-the-can.

  Conan says "The men were already wearing the same overalls to begin with. So even if they were spotted entering this building, they wouldn't have looked suspicious. They'd appear to be some sort of contractors." Ai says that the hostage also probably has their hands and feet bound and their mouth sealed. Conan says that the hostage is still alive otherwise those men wouldn't have shown their faces. Killing a hostage before a transaction is too risky. They probably knocked the person unconscience and shut them in somewhere. Conan says not to worry about the kidnapping as he's going to call the police.

  Conan thinks to himself that calling Detective Tagaki would be the best option. Ayumi notices Conan's mobile wallpaper is a picture of him and Kogoro when Kogoro was drunk and was messing about on Conan's phone. The group then start discussing phone wallpapers, Ayumi's is her holding a sparkler. Mitsuhiko's is Kamen Yaiba. Ai's is the Professor's sleeping face and Genta's is a stray neighbourhood cat but he lost his phone during kick-the-can.

  Conan is just about to call Detective Tagaki but the men find them. Luckily Conan tricks them into thinking Detective Takagi is behind them and the group run for it.

  After hiding, Conan and the group seize a chance to escape, however whilst running Conan is looking at his phone trying to dial and isn't looking where he's going. He trips by getting the tip of his foot stuck in a crack in the floor. His phone lands loudly on the ground - unharmed. However Conan lands awkwardly and attempts to stifle a yell, this fails. Panicking he tells the group he'll catch up to them.

• 

  But the men hear all the commotion. Conan is about to kick a ball (using his belt) at one man but as he does the other man - not realising it opens a door shielding them both, deflecting the ball and hitting Conan! So the men take advantage of the situation and kidnap Conan.

• 

  Meanwhile the group discover the shutters have been closed. Ayumi stresses about Conan and Ai tells the group he's probably been captured. Also since the only known way to escape is the shutters the men will probably be on their way soon. She also says there's no point calling - the police won't believe them. But Ai has a plan.

• 

  The men find Ai all on her own. She screams "The bad guys are here. Guys, don't come out, alright?!" One man says he'll go after Ai, the other agrees and says he'll find the others hiding behind the pillar. It's a dead end and the men get Ai. But when the two of them look behind the pillar it's only a pile of backpacks. So Ai used herself and the backpacks as decoys to buy time for the others to go upstairs.

  Mitsuhiko is calling the police. The two men shout from below to the kids upstairs that if they ring the police, they'll kill Ai and Conan! The call has got through, the three kids are speechless, should they risk it and talk on the phone or hang up?!

  The fact that the two men haven't heard any sirens makes them realise that the kids really did take their orders to heart. They decide to take Conan and Ai to "the room on the fourth floor" where they're holding "that old man". The fat man is going after "the brats" they also discuss how the old man has a "boatload of money". "But when we called his house, no one answered, right?". "She'll come home soon. His only daughter who sometimes answers the phone and sounds like a middle-schooler, that is. We'll threaten that girl and get her to bring the money here. Then shut her up in this building as well, and set it on fire so we can get the hell out of here."

  It's 6:00 and the men can't find the remaining Detective Boys! The men know that if they don't hurry, the kids parents will start to worry and make a fuss. They also say the old man is snoring in the locker and when they call his house - no ones picking up.

  Conan realises that after the men say they've checked thoroughly, it's safe to assume they're hiding in one of the lockers in this room. They hid themselves before Conan and Ai were brought here and can't come out now even if they wanted to. The men say that if they search once more and can't find them, they'll have to set the place on fire and run and they'll have to give up on the money. One man starts spreading the gasoline. The other goes to search again. Mitsuhiko and Genta think that they have no choice but to take the men down and that this could be their only chance now that there's just one man.

  Conan hits his badge twice then five times then four times against the floor. Mistuhiko recognises it as another radio code similar to 252 except 254 means... Wait in place! Conan does not want them to move from there under any circumstances until further instructed! But the situation is pretty bad.

  "Our opponents are those two, who have kidnapped and confined some old man and are scheming to make off with the ransom money. We came to play by chance but those two found us and Haibara and I have been captured and restrained. And one if the kidnappers, with the intent to burn us all to death along with the hostage is spreading gasoline around the room. And the other is looking for Genta and the others. But Genta and the others are likely hiding in one of the lockers in this confinement room and are unable to come out. In order to make a breakthrough, we have to make this guy who's been left on watch leave this 4th room but the only thing I can do with my mouth sealed and my four limbs tied is to strike the detective badge against the floor and give coded directions to Genta and the others. But how can i get the guy to leave like this?"

  "Now, I'll try calling the house of that kidnapped old man again..." "Phone? That reminds me..." Conan has flashback of the cellphone background conversation. "Hold on... My cell phone is on the second floor hallway where I passed out. Ayumi's is probably on the first floor, inside her backpack. Genta's is likely somewhere on the third floor where he was hiding. Haibara had her body searched by those guys before getting tied up, and she wasn't carrying her cell phone... so her phone is possibly in her backpack that was kicked over there by one of the culprits earlier."

  "Mitsuhiko has his with him. The way they're scattered around is perfect!" The tall man calls again and gets a reply - someone has picked up! The tall man calls that fat man to say a young man answered the phone. Also he didn't get the phone number wrong. The tall man says that after he got a reply he hung up and called again after confirming the number and the same guy answered. He didn't say anything incase the man was a cop. The fat man scolds him because "no one should know yet whether he'd been kidnapped or not!"

  The tall man exclaims that "This is different from what we'd planned! That old geezer was supposed to live with his middle school-aged daughter who sometimes answered the phone and we were going to threaten her to bring the ransom money here, right? This whole $%@#! is getting really bad!" "Guess we can't help that this whole thing started stinking to high heaven. Lets light the fire and scram! We'll burn those brats to death along with the hostage!" "But every one of those brats saw our faces!" Conan thinks to himself - "Not good... If we don't make a moves soon..." the tall man interrupts his thoughts. "What are we gonna do with the brats we haven't found yet" Conan begins tapping his badge again. This time it's 555 Call to report! Which can't be call the police because that's 554, request for police. The group in the locker are confused.

  They hear the sound again except this time it's 953 which is the code signifying that the cause of fire is "playing with fire". These codes don't mean call the police and report playing with fire - otherwise Conan would've tapped 951 for Arson. So does it mean to call someone who's playing with fire? The group realise Conan must mean to call Ayumi's cell phone, which has the picture of sparklers as it's wallpaper!
