Kid knew the Blush Mermaid was a fake, and used magnets for his trick. When Conan and Sera are alone, Sera was actually Kid who mistook Sera for a boy(because she was in the men's room since the ladies was all full) and disguised as her. When Kid realizes Sera was a girl, the real Sera shows up and kicks him while in her underwear. She mentions that her hat was from her late eldest brother.
