Case

Situation

Part 1

Agasa takes the Detective Boys to watch a parade. They run into Sato who explains that they received a bomb threat and believe it is related to a bomb case three years ago. Takagi's disguise causes Sato to experience traumatic flashbacks and she resultantly slaps Takagi. The other officers reveal Takagi's disguise resembles Sato's dead partner, Matsuda. During the parade, the bomber detonates an explosive hidden under Takagi's Gray GT-R; Takagi luckily was able to avoid the explosion.

Car Bombing - Attempted Murder
	Victim: Wataru Takagi Injury: Explosion When Takagi leans down to pick up his car keys, he sees a mysterious paper bag and decides to run away ask Shiratori if the bag contains anything suspicious, ultimately saving him from a certain death, as his car explodes just as he leaves.

Part 2

After a through investigation, Conan realizes that the mail truck never arrived and realizes the explosion was a distraction and what the true motives for the bombers are.

Post Office robbery
	Location: Beika Postal Bank Hostages: Tsutsumi, two mailmen, building manager and bank employees. Culprits: The bombers from earlier Disguised as mailmen, the bombers forced their way into the bank while armed.

At a bank, a mail deliverer attempts to rob the postal bank only to be ambushed by the police. The police reveal that the bombers hijacked a mail truck while holding the mailmen hostages and had planned to rob the bank while the police were distracted. The bombers were then arrested and it was revealed they were not responsible for the bomb crime three years ago. They just used it as a pretense to divert the police from their real objective. Later that day, Sato breaks up with Takagi claiming that every man she ever loved died.

Manga to anime changes

• After the scene where Sato informs Takagi that they need to talk later, the anime follows on with Conan reflecting on who the murderer could be, the motive and whether or not he/she was caught on tape.

Trivia

• This is the sixth case of the Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story (series), however it is the second hidden one, by not having the Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story in the name. The first was The Shinkansen Transport Case.
• When they are talking about the bombings of three years ago, they are probably talking about The Trembling Police Headquarters: 12 Million Hostages case, which happens to be the third hidden case in the series.
• This is Miwako Sato's third case to wear a disguise. The first two were Megure's Sealed Secret and Boy Genta's Misfortune, however in this case she wore two disguises.
• This is the case that Takagi, unknowingly, wore a disguise that resembled Jinpei Matsuda, Sato's late partner, which may have been his first ever disguise too.
• This is the first case that Haibara is shown using her Detective Boys Badge.
