Masakazu Yokoyama (横山 正和 Yokoyama Masakazu?, 1948 – March 3, 2020) is a Japanese sound effect engineer. He was responsible for the sound effects in Detective Conan anime from episodes 1 to 1001 and simultaneously in some movies. In 2021, after episode 1001, Takahisa Ishino took over Yokoyama's position as sound effect for the anime.

Biography

Before establishing Yokoyama Sound Effects (サウンドエフェクト横山), Masakazu Yokoyama used to work under E&M Planning Center (E&Mプランニングセ).

Yokoyama was mainly in charge of the sound effects in animation works produced by Tokyo Movie (東京ムービー)[Note 2] and Sunrise (サンライズ).

On March 3, 2020, Yokoyama passed away at the age of 72. After four years, the Detective Conan movie Movie 27: The Million-dollar Pentagram put a title card "In memory of Masakazu Yokoyama" at the end credits of the film.
