Telling IPs to create accounts

Any reason why you are telling an IP with one edit to create an account? I understand asking if they have been around for a while, but it's a bit strange so early on. They might get frightened off if someone tells them point blank they need an account even though its not mandatory. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 05:38, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Half the appeal of a freely editable wiki is that people can just casually edit it without making an account if there are only interested in doing occasional touch-ups. It's only when people get beyond casual is it appropriate to point out they seem pretty serious and that an account would help them out at the level they are working at. Trying to press an account on occasional editor types is liable to put them off or make them suspicious why someone would be demanding they join the website. Are there any other people you have asked to create an account that I need look at? Chekhov MacGuffin talk 06:02, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Edit: If you are going to ask someone to make an account don't just say make an account which sounds like an official demand. Say something like, "If I'm not mistaken, I think I've seen you around for a while. Have you thought about an account? You get some nice features to help you edit and can post over at the forums too. "

Editing episode 656

"Thank You" for just spoiling an edit of this ep's plot. I just wanted to complement the episode's first part, and now the plot addition I made has been erased. And since I'm in for a lot of work tomorrow, I am too tired to want to write this up all over again now. Next time, please consider that I am usually a bit more thorough in my edits.

Profile Image Change - Gin

Hi, S261157. I would like to propose the Gin profile picture if possible to change a new one. I prefer the Proposal #3 from "The Raven Chaser", And you, what do you prefer? Rex Salazar 15:55, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Adam's Smile Heist (MK Volume 3)

Hello! I was wondering if you wouldn't mind tweaking your summary of the Adam's Smile heist on Magic Kaito Volume 3's page. Some of the sentences read a bit strangely. If you could reword a few lines to flow better and tweak some of the grammar it'd be greatly appreciated! :) --Skyechan 23:46, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

The IP

The solution to this problem is simple. If there are any pages he specifically goes back and redoes what you undid then we protect the pages from no username users. Please feel free to start a list so I know what to do. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 14:48, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Super Franky and Sogeking

So the mods are not idiots and we have been watching the recent pages. Super Franky, who edits like you shows up the day after you are banned. Now a Sogeking (one piece theme) shows up today and makes all the pointless space additions you like to make the same people removal things Snumbers edit warred about, and logs out, and then Super Franky comes on two minutes later. Come clean and apologize, and you will receive another longer ban. Try to play innocent and it's permanent. This kind of behavior shows you cannot work constructively with the wiki or other editors. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 16:06, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

This is Super Franky, I'm curious though, are you Sogeking?

Tamaki's surname from movie 4

Her surname is really indeed Jinno, not Imoto. [in japanese wiki of the movie] her name is listed as 仁野 環(じんの たまき) aka Jinno Tamaki.

Topic ban rules

Since I was the only mod who responded to the issue, I guess I am deciding the rules. So you are/will be unblocked and you will have the following restrictions that you will need to follow for some initial length of time, I'm going to call it 3 months, which may get reduced as long as you follow the rules of the topic ban initially. The topic ban covers any pages with people boxes since that was where the trouble started. So no episode pages, volumes, special episodes, special volumes, etc. The only exception is reverting blatant vandalism. Character pages, timelimes, lists, setting, culture, gadgets, general info, main page, everything else where there aren't people boxes is ok. Uploading pictures that appear on the pages is allowed as well since you don't need to edit the page to do that. I'm also going to allow episode galleries as well, but please don't fiddle with the corresponding episode page at all except for adding the link to the gallery if it doesn't already have one. Other people can post on your behalf if you have already written summaries that need posting. If you have any questions, you know where to find me. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 11:37, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

It's fine this one time since you apologized first, but after this leave the MK9 article alone. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 10:06, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

The reason I use the redirects

It's not so much that I care about a direct link or a redirected one. It's simply a matter of reducing unneeded text. Antiyonder 01:10, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Galleries

Hello! I noticed that you uploaded a lot of images for the The Witch, the Detective, and the Phantom Thief/Gallery gallery. I actually had a conversation with User:Hstar a long time ago when we were talking about adding galleries to episodes, movies, etc... As you can read here: "User_talk:Hstar#RE:_Thank_You.21" for example, it was somewhat decided to limit the max number of images per gallery to 25 (although 15 or 20 would be sufficient too). There are many reasons for that. One of them is to prevent having too many images that could look like we're "giving away" too much of an episode to the point of looking like a "silent" video rip. And this could potentially become an issue on the legal side of things. Therefore, if you could limit the gallery to 25 images (or less and a multiple of 5 if possible), that would be great. And if there are other galleries like that, it would be good to update them accordingly as well. I'll try to update the Manual of Style when I can to list this new standard. Thank you for your understanding and keep up the good work! :) --Maurice talk 22:47, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

It has to be standard everywhere. There cannot be an exception just for the MK special episode 9. In the end, you will be doing extra work for nothing.. There's already 65 images which is A LOT already (and you're not done yet?). Imagine someone looking at this page and feeling like he's actually living each action of the MK special. We're giving out too much content and this could cause (copyright) troubles. So please, filter out images that you believe are less important/necessary to reach 25 at most (I suggested User:Hstar to grab relevant screenshots in the video at a 2-3 minutes interval). Also, when you do the gallery, can you use the same formatting as on this page: "Roller Coaster Murder Case/Gallery" (by using the "<gallery>" tag)? Thanks! --Maurice talk 23:09, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! I really appreciate it! :) Thanks again for the hard work. --Maurice talk 23:15, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

Starting a revert war with Skyechan

Don't start a revert war with Skyechan. She's angry enough with you as it is and you are not in good standing. If you are going to revert, at least explain in detail the precise reasons why the older pictures are better. Otherwise it is just another revert war to get blocked over -- and without any leniency. Just let the Yuusaku pictures slide. They both show more of Yuusaku's head and hair anyway. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 01:15, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
