Unmei no Roulette Mawashite is a single by Japanese rock band ZARD. It is the 4th opening in Detective Conan, and as a single, was released on September 17, 1998. The song became a big hit for the band, and peaked at #1 on the Oricon sales charts. The single was released with a B-side, "Shōjo no Koro ni Modotta Mitai ni", which was used as the closing theme to The Fourteenth Target, and also peaked at #1 on the charts.

A music box version of "Unmei no Roulette Mawashite" appears on the ZARD CD "ZARD ~Memorial~: Orgel Sound Collection" released in 2009.

FUNimation version

FUNimation did not adapt this particular opening song for their English release of the show. Although the uncut Japanese version appears on their DVDs the song doesn't sync up quite right with the animation. The version used on the FUNi releases is not as up beat as the original version. This is most likely because FUNimation did not receive the licensing rights to the specific cut of the song that was used for the original version of the show, so they used the album cut instead.

Synopsis

Conan Edogawa is slowly making the camera while telling you a brief summary of the episode that will begin. They see several images of Conan and then is seen as in the Opening 01: Mune ga doki doki, which is in space. Conan and Ran Mouri appear looking at a landscape, Conan then seen a drawing of himself that Ayumi Yoshida drawn to him, they all begin to talk about them and get to Conan blush.

Then Ran and Sonoko Suzuki are singing, follow them Mitsuhiko an Genta Kojima, Ayumi and finally then Conan, but when he begins to sing all tell you to stop singing badly.

Juzo Megure, Wataru Takagi, Hiroshi Agasa and Mouri Kogoro look to Conan that comes running and see that Ran is kidnapped by a man, Conan uses High Intensity Shoes for firing a ball and knock out the kidnapper.

Conan is seen supported and a mirror and the other side of the mirror is observed to Shinichi Kudo, Ran appears and takes the glass where Shinichi and Conan. Finally seen the eyes of Shinichi, Conan, ayumi,and kogoro, at the End, The Detective Conan logo with brick background.
