Takagi is walking alone but later then approached by Yumi in a patrol car. Yumi expects Takagi to go for a date with Sato again but Takagi strictly says that "it is not a date". On the next day, a man appears to give a present for Sato via the Detective Boys. He says that the present is perishable so they must send it to him quickly. The man vanishes and Conan appears later on. After explaining something about Haibara and the Professor, Amuro appears to give reasoning about the previous case at the HQ too. Sato becomes anxious about Takagi's secret and threatens Chiba who was observing Takagi last night. He tells her that he got yelled at by Takagi after telling that the sticker coming out from Takagi's notebook had Sato's picture on it. After the Detective Boys send the present, Sato opens it and finds a tablet PC where there is a video letter in it. It shows Takagi bandaged and liying on a wood. Sato informs Inspector Megure about this and discusses about the planning of this case. Conan pours some ideas but later Superintendent Matsumoto arrives to give some orders. Sato then starts questioning the Detective Boys, and investigate the case. Chiba, who was ordered to continue observing the tablet PC, finds that Takagi is adjusting position on the wood and likely wants to commit suicide. However, Conan explains that Takagi is dropping his cop notebook to give a clue to someone down the highrise. Lastly, Conan discusses with Sato about a case related to this case.

The police are still searching for the location where Takagi is being held at. Three people seem to be connected and through them, a person is suspected to be the kidnapper. Then, the police rushes to ambush him. Sato explains to the culprit that he has mistaken Wataru Takagi as Wataru Date who has dumped Natalie, her daughter, making her commit suicide. Actually, Date did not meet Natalie not because of dump intent but because he was hit by a car and died. However, before the culprit could tell the location of Takagi, he dies because of the poison that he took before the police arrived. Takagi continues to drop clues and hopes somebody will notice him but he later realizes that there is a bomb under the wood where he is lying.

The police notices the bomb under the wood where Takagi is lying is a time bomb that will detonate soon. The only hint for the location of Takagi is a recorded blurred footage which is referring to Sun Pillar phenomenon, deduced by Conan. Sato and Megure ride a chopper to go to Takagi's location. Sato jumps from the helicopter and saves the exhausted Takagi is later saved by Sato. Takagi feels like it's his fault not to have mentionned Natalie earlier about Date's death but later opposed by Sato.

When he went ahead of her, Takagi found the bag and when he opens it, he found thirty million yen inside. Sasamoto thinks Takagi is a burglar but he tells her it's not what it looks like. At the police station, the officer confirms it's thirty million yen and it hasn't been reported about the lost and found items. On a rainy night, Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are riding in their rental car talking about the person who requested Kogoro to investigate if her boyfriend who was cheating passed away. The person's name is Kaoru Sasamori and she fell down a flight of stone stairways. It happened three months ago when four people were at the funeral of Kaoru Sasamori. The four people are Takashi Sasamori (Kaoru's older brother), Hikari Tsuge (Kaoru's ex-lover), Mariko Noguchi (Tsuge's manager), and Kazumi Ishikura (Kaoru's friend). It started when Takashi angrily accused Tsuge to be the murderer pushing Kaoru down the stairs which he saw him do it. The police already investigated and the misunderstandings were solved but it doesn't fool Takashi. Tsuge denies every word what Takashi said because he claims that he did not kill Kaoru. Back in the present, Kogoro is going to Tsuge's house because this morning, Tsuge contacted to Kogoro saying, "About that time's murderer, I'll tell you, so please come." | |||||||||||

Sonoko takes a chance to tease Ran to show her feeling to Shinichi but failed. She said something that Subaru told her earlier to tell to Shinichi and gives Conan another lead to the case. Shinichi tells Ran to go to the crime scene again to test his deduction. Subaru sees Conan going out from toilet just after Shinichi hangs up the talk with Ran and figures it out. Nishizawa sank into the tub and it's probably been about 5-6 hours since he died. After Conan tells Ran to call the police, he goes and takes a closer look. He found an empty bottle of sleeping pills and more importantly, he found the flower petal in the middle of the water. The shape is similar to cherry blossom petal but the colors different. Suddenly, Sato and Takagi arrived so Sato told Takagi to contact the police headquarters. When Conan asked Sato why is she here, she answers a motorboat from Heikyū river that was registered was stolen, turned up Nishizawa's fingerprints. Kogoro, Ran, and Conan miss their boat home from a vacation and are lucky to hitch a ride with the rich Hatamoto family on a private ship. The head of the Hatamoto family, Gozo is murdered, and the evidence all points to Takeshi whose father committed suicide when his company was taken over by the Hatamoto family. Takeshi is forced into a locked cabin for suspicion of murder. Everyone in the family is interested in the Hatamoto inheritance but are shocked to find that a will was made and the inheritance was signed to Natsue, the Head's granddaughter. Later a Hatamoto family member, Tatsuo, is found dead and Takeshi is missing from the storage room.

After looking in each of the rooms searching for Takeshi, Conan finds the evidence to prove Takeshi's innocence and the culprit guilty. Conan uses Kogoro and proves Ichiro is the murderer and that his motive was because he was in love with Natsue, who became engaged to Takeshi. Ichiro revealed Gozo rejected his proposal for marriage with Natsue and humiliated him. After learning of Takeshi's past, Ichiro murdered Joseph and framed Takeshi In the end, Takeshi talks to Natsue and tells her he planned to avenge his father but fell in love with her and gave up on revenge. | |||||||||||

While the Professor sets up camp and Conan chats with Sera, Ayumi, Genta, Haibara, and Mitsuhiko venture into the woods and come across a man burying a body. While the children run, Haibara alerts the police, and then they hide in a dark cabin, only to figure out it is where the culprit was earlier. To prevent them from talking, the culprit locks them in and sets the cabin blaze. Inspector Yamamura arrives to the scene of the body, and later has three suspects. Conan and Sera have figured out the culprit and make him admit it. When Conan asks about the location of the hostages, he says he has trapped them in a hut and set it ablaze. Conan and Sera rush to the scene and the hut are already on huge fire. However, the trapped Detective Boys are finally able to free from the blazing hut with Shiho's help. Mitsuhiko has a chance to record a video about Shiho and send it to Kogoro Detective Agency in hope he can thank her properly later. However, Amuro who is hacking the Kogoro's PC receives the video and watch it and later realizes that someone else is hacking the PC too. From far, Subaru is observing his PC while drinking Bourbon wine.

With the help of Megure's clumsiness with computers, as well as the game of go on the table, Conan is able to solve the case. He finally obtains a copy of the man's diary. After the case, Conan and Ran are walking home, and Ran begins to cry, thinking that Shinichi's heart may have changed when it comes to his feelings about her. While Conan tries to help make her feel better, a man comes out of a phone booth... Shuichi Akai!

Vermouth tells Gin about Sherry is going to ride the Black Mystery Train. Bourbon is sent to eliminate Sherry. On the next day, Detective Boys, Conan, Haibara, Professor Agasa, Ran, Sonoko, Kogoro and Sera arrived at the train station for the ride. Kaito Kid also has announced to steal an expensive jewel belongs to Jirokichi at the first-class car. However, what makes Conan and Sera interested for this is deduction quiz that will be held in the train during the runtime. Detective Boys receive a letter and are told to go to Carriage 7, Room B. They thought the deduction quiz has started. When they reach there, they open the door and found a man is being shot. The shooter run away and they followed him. A train conductor stops them and tells them to go back to their room because the deduction quiz is not started yet. Conan figures out the case become reals but cannot find the victim room due to confusion. Later, Conan and Sera found the victim's room and found him dead with a pistol gripped on his hand and concluded as locked room murder case. | |||||||||||

Conan and Sera continue their investigation on the case. Detective Boys want to offer some help but Conan declines with a very serious face. Haibara shocks again when Scar Akai passes by the walkway while keeping his eye on her. They later found Amuro in the train too. Subaru and Yukiko are seen to sneak Amuro from their room. Kogoro arrives at the crime scene and the investigation is continued. Mitsuhiko mentions Professor Agasa that he has sent the camp trip footage to Kogoro in order to know the lady that has saved them. Ran says that she has watched the video with Kogoro and upload it to the internet. Haibara trembles with fear after hearing that. Later, Haibara receives an e-mail from Vermouth asking "Are you ready?". She then go out of the room to take the APTX drug. However, she is interrupted by Subaru. | |||||||||||

Conan makes a weird request by asking a suspect to run through the walkway. Later, Amuro takes a snap with his phone on running Sera. Yukiko clashes with Scar Akai on a lonely walkway and whispers something that make Scar Akai shocked. Sera meets Scar Akai and fainted by a stun gun. Scar Akai then text to his comrade to go on with the plan. Conan sleeps Kogoro as usual and starts a deduction show. Ran receives a text message from Haibara saying she is alright. Scar Akai checks the guest name list but busted by the train conductor. He apologizes and go to Ran's room to overhear them. He later dumps Yukiko's baggage but busted by Yukiko. Scar Akai's true identity is revealed here as Vermouth and Yukiko tells that her team has taken Sera on their side, has a special guest. Subaru puts Sera properly and smiled when Sera whispers "Big bro" unconsciously. | |||||||||||

Yukiko continues to speak with Vermouth about a program Vermouth ordered Suguru Itakura to make. Vermouth reveals her trick for exposing Sherry on the train. Sherry runs to the back of the train only to be found by Bourbon. Bourbon reveals the truth behind Scar Akai and plans to trap Sherry in the rear car of the train only to find it's filled with explosives. Just as Sherry closes the door to the rear car, Bourbon is caught off guard by a man who appears to be Shuichi Akai. Vermouth tells Gin over phone that Sherry was killed in the explosion on the train but just as she hangs up she's surprised to see Haibara safe and sound with the rest of the Detective Boys. | |||||||||||

Haibara is upset because Conan did not tell her anything about the planning of the past incident. However, Conan manages to make her mood up again. On the next day, Conan, Ran, Sonoko and Kogoro re-visit a tennis court upon Sonoko's request. She wants to become a professional tennis player to compete with Kyogoku and requests Kogoro to prepare a special coach for her. Reaching there, Conan is shocked because the coach is Amuro Tooru. Later, Conan gets hit by flying tennis racket due to a poor player and fainted. After meeting a doctor ina living room, Conan regains conscious and go to bed for rest. As he wake up, he is trapped in a locked room murder case.

She asked Amuro why he is still investigating about Kogoro even though Sherry has died but Amuro replies, he found an interesting fact about the truth behind The Sleeping Kogoro.
