Fusae Brand is a Gingko leaf themed fashion brand made by Fusae Campbell. Fusae Brand is one of the most frequent fashion brand seen. It's called Sai brand in the anime.

Background

It is a fashion brand that Gingko leaf themed. Its designer is Fusae Campbell. The brand didn’t became famous up until less than 10 years ago before the series. It possible that it’s gingko leaf themed due to Hiroshi Agasa never made fun of Fusae’s hair and compared it to gingko leaf by saying it’s beautiful like a gingko leaf.

The Sai Brand was first mention that in order to expose the identity of the person who hid the phone cables to cut off communications with the outside world, she was asked by Conan to fake an unbearable appendix pain, which she agreed to after jokingly requesting for a Fusae Brand's wallet for her cooperation. She then started rolling on the floor and screaming for help. The culprit felt like he had no choice but to reveal the cable from his pockets and reconnect the phone to ask for an ambulance.

It revealed that Fusae Campbell is the designer of the brand. It was on November 24 Ran and Sonoko was in a line to get a new brand name item which was Fusae's limited edition brand name purses where Haibara said it is probably the celebration of Fusae purses being released in Japan. Fusae brand items was seen the background when Genta was talking about why the brand purse so expensive. Haibara mentioned that the brand has both expensive items and a number of cheap items.

10 years ago before the series while Fusae waiting for Agasa under the ginkgo trees behind Teitan elementary school, she let Ran borrow her umbrella. Fusae asked her if was waiting for someone but Ran said she forgot her umbrella so she staying under the gingko trees for shelter so Fusae decided to give Ran her own umbrella. At first, Ran persistently refused because Fusae will get wet, but she insisted. Fusae then said, when she grows up, Ran will buys one of purses that she designed in return as repayment towards her. She showed a gingko leaf towards Ran and said that it's the mark, and also said although she is not famous now, she'll try her best. Then, they made a pinky promise together about it, with Ran agreeing to it. Ran managed to fulfil that present in the present timeline when she and Sonoko wait in line for a limited edition Fusae Brand Purse.

Fuasae stepfather friend Billy own wife mentioned to be a big fan of the Fusae Brand. Fusae and Billy own conversation in their car, along Ran’s and Shinichi’s own memories of Fusae, indirectly revealing Dr Agasa first love to be Fusae Campbell who is the designer of the Fusae Brand.

Drug Trading Case (Manga: 879, Anime: 764)

When observing the suspects in a drug deal case, Ai recognised that the bag one of the suspects have the newest Fusae brand model, and added that it wasn't on sale in Japan yet. The female suspect had put a rose corsage on it.

Department Store Stabbing Case (Manga: 939 and 941, Anime: 843-844)

Haibara got to the Department Store to see the new Sai Brand clutches she wanted to get with Agasa gift certificate that he won. She sended a photo of the Fusae Brand clutch she wants.

After the case Ai still wanted the clutch.

A cup that the brand collaborated with a tableware maker to make.

The brand collaborated with a tableware maker to make special cups that are toothbrush glasses. The victim of the case, Kunihisa Hiyama own 2 glasses of it.

He used one of them to leave a dying message.

After the case when Agasa makes up an excuse to avoid demonstrating how the Fusae brand glass was used in a murder, his real reason is he didn't want to further damage something with Fusae's name on it.

Black Bunny's Club Case (Manga: 1009-1010, Anime: 952)

Ran show off her Fusae Brand wallet for the first time and it’s shown she also put her house keys in it.

At the Black Bunny club she lost it but it was given back to her by Sana Murakami who got it from by Amuro who said to have found it though it’s hinted Amuro took it in the first place to get the house keys which has a key to Shinichi Home to make a spar key to get into Shinichi house.

Kaitou Kid and the Queen's Bangs (Manga: 1076-1078, Anime: 1105-1106)

Amuro wore a cap right before the heist before he lended his cap to Yuya Kazami so he can be disguised as Amuro for a plane to capture Kaito Kid.

Ai Haibara was wearing a Sai Brand hat for the whole case.

Vermouth saw a ad for a limited edition Fusae Campbell Brooch Pin on her phone. Later Ai went to the shop to get the limited edition brooch buying tickets to the pin with her getting the last one. Vermouth disguised herself as an old woman to get it but she was unable to get it and got disappointed though Ai, unaware of Vermouth identity, gave her last ticket to her. Near at the end of the movie Vermouth is shown wearing the brooch on her kimono.

Trivia

• The Fusae brand is referenced in other episodes. In the anime, it can be heard as the Sai brand instead. This is actually the result of mishearing the name Fusae: as when speaking Japanese, it is common to devoice the /i/ and /u/ vowels between voiceless consonants. So, in the name /fusae/, because both the /f/ and the /s/ are voiceless consonants, the /u/ vowel between them is devoiced, resulting in a very weak and difficult to notice presence. With the absence of the vowel, the preceding /f/ would be heard as an exhale and not be heard as part of the word, leaving just /sae/, itself easily misheard as /sai/ when spoken fast. The word itself is still being pronounced as /fusae/, and not /sai/.
• After Fusae loaned Ran her umbrella and Ran promised to buy one of Fusae's designed purses in return when she got older, she managed to do so in episodes 421-422 where she was in line with Sonoko to get a new brand name item which was Fusae's limited edition brand name purses and confirmed by Gosho in an interview called Love Conan Interview Dated March 31, 2014, with Gosho.
