Background
Sakura Toyama studied at the same school with Hitoshi Kudo[N 1],[1]. She later started a career as a Anti-firearms squad member, the branch of the Riot Police Unit tasked with counterterrorism and arresting criminals with firearms[2]. She likely met Ginshiro Toyama while in the force and married, taking on the surname "Toyama" and quitting her job. She probably later became a homemaker[N 2].
Appearance
Sakura is an average-height woman, the same height as Kazuha and about the same height as Ran Mouri, but is about a foot shorter than her husband[4]. She looks youthful despite being in her fourties and easily passed off as her daughter, since their looks and voices are similar[4]. She however does not have the same hairstyle as Kazuha, her hairstyle being short curly hair tied by a leopard-patterned banada[4]. She is only seen wearing her daughter's dress. While pretending to be Kazuha, she described herself as being "a beauty" and "super strong"[2].
Personality
She is a playful and cheerful mother, willing to pull pranks on her daughter's friends[4].

Detective Play Murder Case (Manga: 1129-1133, Anime: TBA)
Sakura Toyama made a bet with her daughter that she can pass off as her if she wore a mask and a wig and Kazuha accepted the bet. She and her daughter assisted to a play at the Naniwa Arts Theater along with Heiji, Conan, Ran and Kogoro, with the two switching places every once in a while. After meeting with the actors, murders start happening between rehearsals, but Sakura and Kazuha to keep the trickery going. Later, when her husband arrives at the crime scene, he notices the switch right away and is irritated at his wife. However, it is not until the end of the case that the switcheroo is found out, with Ginshiro jockingly slapping his wife to force her to remove her disguise. Ran, Conan and Kogoro were all fooled by her disguise. Later, when her daughter and Heiji come back from the Naniwa Harukas observation deck, she is happy to notice that their relationship is progressing, seeing them holding hands.
Name origin
Just like her husband and daughter, The name "Toyama" comes from Edo period "police detective" Kagetomo Toyama, aka Toyama no Kin-san[5]. Her first name "Sakura" (櫻), which is the kyūjitai form of "桜", means cherry blossom and likely comes from the fact that the cherry blossom is the symbol of the Japanese police.
