In the meantime, Kogoro, Ran, and Sonoko have come to Singapore to see a karate tournament held there. Conan, who doesn't have a passport and can't travel overseas, was supposed to stay at home. But Kid, who wants to make use of him, uses a magical trick to forcibly drag him to Singapore. Conan must obey Kid if he wants to get back to Japan, gets his glasses, wristwatch and clothes, amongst others, all stolen from him and he has to disguise himself.
Ran, who doesn't realize who he is, asks him his name and he improvises the name Arthur Hirai. Disguised as Shinichi, Kid eventually gets a hold of information about the fist being stored in a manor's underground vault. Just when he was thinking that he'd made it inside very easily, he finds a dangerous trap awaiting him. Facing him is the strongest karateka with a streak of 400 consecutive victories: Makoto Kyogoku.
Leon Lowe, the Singapore detective and criminal behavior psychologist, aims for the legendary secret treasure buried in the seabed for a purpose, and hinders both Conan and Kid. They must confront Leon and his excellent secretary, the beautiful Rachel Cheongu.

Trivia
- Some live action scenes from Singapore appeared in The Darkest Nightmare's ending credits.
- This is the first movie setting in another Asian country, never happened in the manga and anime series. The canon case of the The Scarlet School Trip was initially planned to be set in Singapore, but the setting was changed to Kyoto in pre-production.
- Interestingly enough, this is also the first movie directed by a woman, Tomoka Nagaoka, and is likely to become the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman in Japan.
- The movie had promotional collaborations with Fist of the North Star, Avengers: Endgame, and Urusei Yatsura.
- The movie made 422 million yen on its opening day, and 1.9 billion yen in the first three days, becoming the second highest grossing film of the franchise, just behind Zero the Enforcer.
- Arthur Hirai is derived from Arthur Conan Doyle and Taro Hirai (Edogawa Ranpo's real name), just like Conan Edogawa.
- The white swimsuit worn by Ran in the pool is one of those she bought in The Blind Spot in the Dressing Room.
- The vehicles from car bombing are a 2012 BMW M6 Coupe [F12], a 2016 Mazda CX-9 [TC], and a Mercedes-Benz C-Class [W202].
- Singapore police force's vehicle is a 2008 Toyota Corolla Altis [E140].
- Yūki Kaji, who voices Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan, voices Rishi Ramanathan in this movie.
