Because the victim was a well-liked fortuneteller, the police are able to narrow down the list of suspects to three people: Shinsuke Kanawa, Fukami Endo, and Ryoichi Sazanami, all of which have grudge against the victim for supposedly gave the fortune that had instead brought them misfortune. Additionally, all three of them each has their own possession involved in the crime: Endo's broach was found in the same room that Baba was discovered, Kanawa's lighter was found in the park she was strangled, and Sazanami's car was used to transport the victim's body from the park to her house.

Resolution
As it turns out, both Shinsuke Kanawa and Fukami Endo actually didn't possess true vendetta against the victim: Kanawa's company and his relationship with his wife actually were both on the bad term even before his meeting with Baba, while Endo had lied about her boyfriend's personality and action to Baba, both leaded to the victim giving them an encouragement on company investment/marriage. However, Ryoichi Sazanami is actually angered by Baba's fortunetelling about starting up his "UFO Ramen" restaurant, believing that because of her encouragement, he had started the restaurant at the wrong time which resulted in financial failure.
