Situation

Part 1

Conan and the Detective Boys are watching a soccer game when someone calls the television station covering the game. This person demands that 50 million yen be given to him, or he will indiscriminately shoot someone in the stands.

Part 2

When the money is picked up, the police attempt to capture him. However, it turns out that this person has a partner in the stands, and will shoot someone unless this person is let go. The police are forced to let him go, and he makes an impossible demand: 1 billion yen must be delivered before the end of the match. Conan realizes with this plan the culprit had aimed to shoot someone from the start, and he had to find out where the partner who is still in the stadium is before he shoots someone.

Conan observed the video feeds recorded and noticed that whenever the first culprit was on camera, the camera immediately turned away, and it was not a coincidence. His partner, ""the cameraman"", deliberately not to film him to avoid suspicion. The culprit is Hiruta. His motive was that the TV Station had a year ago destroyed his and his partner's plan to robbed a bank to due have arranged a TV-show about the bank and attracked a lot of people making the robbery impossible. Hiruta wife who was expecting money from that heist started drinking and ended up committed suicide. Upon being discovered, Hiruta was about to shoot Conan with a gun.

Conan was about the tranquilize him with the Stun Gun Wristwatch, but his attempt hit the gun instead, leaving him defenseless. Luckily, a soccer ball suddenly arrived, allowing Conan to kick the ball to knock down the culprit.

A remastered version of both episodes aired on January 21th and 28th, 2012.

Trivia

• A DVD that includes The Indiscriminate Stadium Threatening Case was given out with the June 1st 2012 issue of Shonen Sunday Super for promoting The Eleventh Striker.
• The culprit's pistol is a suppressed Beretta 92FS.
• Although Miwako Sato has made a cameo in A Mysterious Sniper Murder Case filler, this is her first official and canon appearance.
• Interesting Note: When the Detective Boys asked Conan when did he start watching Soccer, he had the chance, and should have taken the chance to let these kids, know that is the ONLY sport he actually likes, watches, and WANTS TO PLAY."
  • Plus he barely tolerates the other games the real kids want to play, and grumbles, "Why not soccer?"
  • Plus he should also tell them that is the one sport that he is very smart on, although they would not get why he has to drop the soccer expert in front of others, but...
  • Even as far as Ran, he may need to hide the expert, but he should not have to hide his love of that one sport from Ran, esp when he is bored at any non soccer sports game.
• This is the episode that the Detective Boys, including Haibara attended a New Years Soccer Game which is being televised, and Conan placed a hat on her head, and dragged her closer so that she can really see the soccer game, in contrast to letting her hide herself from view.
• This is the second time that Haibara stated that the organization knows what she looked like, when she was small, the first time was The Girl from the Black Organization and the University Professor Murder Case.
• This is the episode that Haibara thought, "Kudo-kun, you need to quit dreaming. You're already deeply involved in a secret project that our organization began over half a century ago."
• Conan knows quite a bit about guns and ammo, and even mentioned that the thinks the gun that fired this Russian Bullet came from a Tokarev.
• This is the first time that Conan used the excuse of Learning it from Kogoro, when he was telling Megure how knowledgeable he is on guns, and their bullets.
• Megure immediately thought, "Geez... Why is he teaching kids all this stuff?" In reference to Conan's expert gun knowledge.
• This is the first case that takes place at a sports stadium, and in this case soccer.
• This is a case there the culprit threatens to shoot someone, and possibly many people if there is an evacuation.
• This case takes place on New Years Day at a National Soccer Game.
• This is the first case that Miwako Sato took down a culprit using her fighting skills.
• This game takes place at the finals in the Emperor Cup.
• There are 56,000 people in the audience, or the stands hold that many people.
• This case, Genta and Mitsuhiko fearlessly took on a possible armed culprit, however, thankfully for them, it was Takagi.
• Takagi was using an earphone since his radio broke.
• Interesting Note: Conan reprimanded Genta, Ayumi, and Mitsuhiko, since he thought they were distracted, as they tend to get while working on a case, however, that is not what is bothering them. They keep watching the monitors and keep losing sight of the suspicious man, due to him walking out of camera range frequently. In short, they were really paying attention to the important task at hand.
• This is an episode that Megure appeared to really listen to Conan this time.
• This is the case that Conan accidentally hit the gun with his Stun-Gun Wristwatch, instead of the culprit.
• This is the case that Haibara told 'Kudo-kun,' "I find you more and more a fascinating subject for study."
