Iwao Iwata killed Katayama because she was responsible for the Yasaka couple (Iwata's benefactors) suicide two years ago after being deceived by an evil-mannered money-loaner named Fujikura Eiji, that not only took their house, but their workshop too. Katayama was his accomplice. Since, according to law, she cannot be arrested, Iwata took matters into his own hands. Iwata had to wait for Katayama to be alone (usually when she took out her trash at night) to strike. The evidence is that there is Katayama's right index finger's fingerprint on the weapon, despite that she had an injury (because she slammed her hand in a car door) and can't use it to hold the weapon.

Trivia

• This is the last episode to use the original TV soundtracks, before switching to the new version in the next episode.
• The car is a 2005 blue Nissan Fuga [Y50].
• Negishi Moving Company reappears at the ending.
