Situation
In the beginning of the scene, we can roughly guess that Kaitou Kid has disguised himself as Azusa and Conan currently has no idea who the disguised Kaitou Kid is, while the one calling Azusa, Amuro, is completely unaware of the situation. Will Conan be able to find out who is actually Kaitou Kid in disguise?
Part 1
The crowd is waiting for Kid's appearance as he is assumed to appear at the tonight’s exhibition of Siren’s Splash, the crown that pirates had been searching the seas for because of its power that was said to protect sailors from disasters according to some sources, at the Suzuki building in Kinza, where Sonoko, Ran, and Conan were invited in to see the said crown in person. There they meet Azusa having delivered sandwiches to the Riot Policemen with Amuro, who had left earlier without her, and Conan asks Azusa about the red stain on her shirt when he notices it, to which she says it must have been the ketchup they brought along with. Azusa then also wants everyone to tell them how Kid is able to escape the hallway, which refers to Jirokichi Suzuki's newest security system.
The reason he chose a 20 meter long, low-ceilinged system called the Path of the Wind was because in the previous incident, Kid ran around by shooting cards attached to the wall with strings using his gun. Connected to the end of the corridor is the Siren’s Splash crown exhibition room, where they also meet Inspector Nakamori and the other Riot Policemen, as well as the exhibition director Seria Andou, who explains to us the mechanism of the security system and its source of operation. However, later on, a gem appraiser named Chikayo Chuujou and an antique appraiser named Bunji Karino come to appraise Siren’s Splash later than inteded because there was some trouble while they were having dinner.
Things are put on hold when Conan's stomach growls, at which point Sonoko suggests going to the waiting room to eat the sandwich that was left behind by Azusa. While the three of them are enjoying the delicious sandwich, Kanenori Wakita is seen amazed at how they claim delicious it is but refuses to eat it because he is still full after having a big too much for lunch, besides, he explains that he comes here to get the plate from the Tokujo Sushi that Jirokichi had ordered two hours ago to celebrate capturing Kid when is asked by Sonoko why he came? At that time, he also wants to ask Conan about the strange point of the assistant teacher Rumi Wakasa because during the previous delivery at Teitan Elementary School, he felt her sharp gaze, to which Conan seems to still be awkward about him so he doesn't say much about. And then he leaves, thinking that he is no help in the confrontation with Kid as the three of them return in the hope of making it in time, still wishing that things would have been better if he hadn't lost his left eye.
However, only Conan is able to enter the room before the time limit is reached and along with the others there witness Kid's presence with Sonoko and Ran who have just arrived shortly after. The result is just like the advance notice, he somehow makes Siren's Splash disappear in front of everyone's witness while the alarm does not go off. To quell Conan's suspicion that what they are seeing with their eyes is just a black cloth or paper, he confirms its disappearance himself for everyone and says that there’s no need to chase after him because the crown is no longer on earth, meaning he will go home empty handed.
There are some things that indicate that Kid is actually here and can't get out:
- The security system shows no signs of being cut off because the wind was still blowing the entire time they were in the room according to Sonoko and Ran.
- According to the Riot Policemen who were guarding the hallway, the lights were still on while the wind was blowing and no one came out of the hallway during the chaos.
There is also a question about whether Siren Splash had actually been stolen, but before Nakamori can confirm it, Karino says that he feels strange about Andou's outfit because her current coat is a lighter color. She explains because the ketchup bottle that the two Poirot employees brought had splashed on her, the two appraisers, and a Poirot employee while she and the appraisers were enjoying sandwiches in front of all five people, so she changed into another coat.
Part 2
Conan instantly realizes that the incident makes the appraisal session later than usual is actually a set up made by Kid, and Kid is now disguised as one of the three person, but who could he disguise as? After Karino's suspicion is resolved, Andou discloses about Karino’s wider leg size (to which the other two denies) and Chuujou’s hat being different as it has been turned upside down to hide the ketchup. Conan then figures out the missing crown mystery, but he couldn’t figure out how Kid is gonna escape with the crown.

Manga to anime changes
- The scene when Sonoko is calling Ran in the middle of the crowd is expanded in the anime, with Sonoko struggling among the crowds and Ran apologizing to a woman for suddenly blocking her way.
- In manga, both Ran and Sonoko are confused when Azusa mentioned about "that hallway". In anime, only Ran is confused, while Sonoko guesses what is "that hallway".
- Some scenes added in the anime:
- Police squad members talking about Poirot's food and thanking Azusa for the food.
- TV staffs leaving the scene and talking about Kaitou Kid.
Trivia
- Starting this episode, Rei Furuya is now voiced by Takeshi Kusao, replacing Toru Furuya after the scandal in 2024 that led him to step down as the character's voice actor.
- The Suzuki Building at Kinza is located in Kinza, but not at Kinza Crossing, since all four famous buildings of the crossing were already shown in Kaitou Kid's Teleportation Magic. Instead, it is also modeled after a real 60-storey building in Ikebukuro, Toshima.
- The ketchup bottle brand is a local brand by café Poirot, modeled after Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
- The first smoke bomb Kid uses in this chapter is a different one from the usual ones detonated, as they are usually round, but this one was from a canister. The second however, which was thrown in the elevator, was indeed round. Also, Kid uses a super-strong string to retrieve the crown. This is also the introduction in Detective Conan of the Turbo Engine Skates, which previously appeared in Volume 2 of Magic Kaito.
- The suspects' names come from "seas"[1]:
- Seria Andou (安堂 芹亜) comes from the Adriatic Sea (アドリア海 Adoria-kai) ;
- Chikayo Chuujou (中條 近与) comes from the Mediterranean Sea (地中海 Chichū-kai) ;
- Bunji Karino (狩野 文嗣) comes from the Caribbean Sea (カリブ海 Karibu-kai).
