- This is the second case about horses after The Tragedy at the OK Corral.
- Surprisingly, Conan nor Kogoro notice the second mysterious man's resemblance with Kanenori Wakita being also middle-aged and having the same eyepatch. This shows the anime doesn't take in accound the manga.
- The taxi from SIM Taxi the 3 mysterious people take is a 1990 Toyota Crown Sedan. The license plate is not visible.
- The case is inspired by The Adventure of Silver Blaze, a Sherlock Holmes case.
