Mari Tominaga (とみなが まり Tominaga Mari ), real name "富永真理", is a Japanese animator and character designer. She was a member of Studio Live and is now currently working as a freelancer. Tominaga worked as a character designer for Detective Conan anime in episode 219 and 263 with Masatomo Sudo , then later served as the character designer from episode 356 to 504.
Biography
Tominaga first worked on the Detective Conan anime as a key animator starting with Episode 11: Moonlight Sonata Murder Case. Later, she worked as the sub-character designer for Episode 55 : The Train Trick Murder Case, and animation director starting with Episode 162: The Locked Room in the Sky: Shinichi Kudo's First Case. She then occasionally did key animation and animation direction works afterwards.
In 2003, the production staff had undergone a huge reshuffling, which led to Tominaga replacing Masatomo Sudo as the anime's character designer. She would served as the chief animation director for two TV specials, Episode 304: The Trembling Police Headquarters: 12 Million Hostages and Episode 356: Kaitou Kid's Miraculous Midair Walk.
Meanwhile, she was also responsible for animation direction works for many openings and endings. In mid-2007, Tominaga stopped doing works for the openings and endings; as a consequence, this task was then assigned to Keiko Sasaki.
