Kaitou Kid stands on top of a building with his butler. He discusses the time he was almost caught by a famous Detective in the East, Shinichi Kudo. Afterwards Mouri has been invited to a detective meeting by an unknown assailant who sends him money. There are Six detectives there excluding Conan. They are in a house where a massacre happened years ago. One of the detectives are killed and they are stranded in the mansion as the bridge has been cut and the cars have been burned. It also appears that the unknown assailant is using the name Phantom Thief Kid. After solving the case, Mouri was revealed to be Kid in disguise and escapes before Conan could capture him. First appearance of Saguru Hakuba, Konosuke Jii, Keiko Momoi, Toichi Kuroba, and Renya Karasuma. We see the infamous black star heist where Kudo and Kaito face off. A flashback is shown where Shinichi teams up with Megure to try and outsmart the Kid, which they almost do.

Conan finds the client to be very suspicious, as she refuses to cooperate with the investigation. Is she the murderer, or is there something more about her actions? Shizuka Hattori's first appearance.

The true murderer turns out to be the man's wife. When asked to do down to the station, she goes into a room, then retrieves a sword. The woman client that Conan found suspicious interferes and physically stops her from using the sword by using only a fan! The murderer is then taken, and Heiji appears with Kazuha revealing the mysterious female client to be his mother! Conan is quite shocked to learn about how young Heiji's mother looks!

Conan along with Heiji, Ran, and Mouri visit the Isle of Mermaids looking for Saori, who had sent a letter to Heiji and Mouri asking them to save her from being killed by a mermaid, but when they try to look for her she has been reported missing. Every year on this island a festival is held were 3 locals win the Dungong Arrow that is said to wield immortality to its carrier. The festival is brought to a disastrous end when one of the winners is found dead hanging down the waterfall. While looking in the past visitor registry, Conan finds the name "Shiho Miyano" but he doubts that this was Haibara. Kazuha gets embarrassed when the subject of her feelings for Heiji comes up during her conversation with Ran.

Conan and Heiji investigate the area and history of Mermaids Grave, a forest on Mermaid Island. They learn that an elder who is over 130 years old is a holder of the arrow and the head of the festival. While investigating two more murders occur. Conan reveals to Heiji he knows who the murderer is and to meet him later, but later he and Kazuha fall off a cliff. Heiji and Kazuha are found stuck on a cliff, and Kazuha is barely hanging on to Heiji to survive!

Conan reveals that the murderer is the elder. He reveals that the elder were people who dressed up as her to continue the story of the arrow. Heiji and Kazuha arrive at the house in time to confirm the story. The culprit reveals that her mother was the previous elder who were killed by the three victims. She continued the elder story for her mother, but finds out the whole town knew she was the elder and that her mother was the mermaid's corpse. All the town people bow their heads and apologize for not telling her sooner as she cries due to her guilt. Kazuha takes the arrow that she won in the contest, and stabs Heiji with it, hoping that he'll let go of her so that she can fall off, saying "I pass my long life onto you." However, Heiji refuses to let go, even when the gash gets incredibly bloody. He helps her back up, and helps her to the elder's hut, promising that he will never let anyone hurt her while he is with her.

Ran, Sonoko, and Conan are at an arcade. While there, they meet Ran's new English teacher, Jodie Saintemillion, who confesses a love of video games. While playing a virtual reality fighting game, a man is murdered while strapped to his video game chair. How could the murderer have killed him? Jodie Saintemillion's first appearance. We learn of Jodie's love for video games. It is also mentioned how she is Ran's english teacher.

Inspector Megure arrives at the scene. Conan figures out the murderer's simple trick involving switching the characters in the game, as well as how the murderer sedated and attacked the victim before the game was even fully started, and stuns Sonoko to explain it to everyone. Jodie is very impressed with Conan's reasoning throughout the case, and very suspicious. Jodie hints that she knows Conan's identity and at end talks on the phone saying she found one of the targets.

Ran, Sonoko, and Conan attend a pottery class. Sonoko wants to make pottery for Makoto, while Ran wants to make some for Shinichi. A man is strangled to death with a necktie and found in a closet. Conan knows who the culprit is, to the point of confronting the culprit when they're all alone, but still has no evidence. He tries to find evidence to prove it was him. Ran and Sonoko both want to make a piece of pottery for their respective boyfriends: Shinichi and Makoto.

After investigating by Inspector Megure and Takagi, Conan uses Sonoko to reveal the culprit and tie him to the crime. Sonoko gives her pottery to Makoto, who doesn't know what it's supposed to be used for. Ran decides to not send Shinichi her pottery. Conan discovers it a few days later, where it says on the bottom "I will wait for you," with a heart next to it. This makes Conan happy for the rest of the day. Ran decides to not send Shinichi her pottery, while Sonoko gives hers to Makoto. While looking for chips, Conan finds the pottery, which says "I will wait for you, Shinichi," which gets Conan red-faced, and makes him happy for the rest of the day.

The Detective Boys, Conan, and Haibara all go on a bus.While there, they meet up with Jodie Saintemillion and Tomoaki Araide, who are both going on a lunch date. However, trouble brews when the bus is hijacked! Also, could it be that a member of the Black Organization is on the bus? Haibara believes so. Could they be after Haibara? Also, one of the three people sitting in the back, are an accomplice to the hijackers. Can Conan figure out who it is? Shuichi Akai's first appearance. Shuichi is mysterious and silent in his first appearance.   Haibara is incredibly scared, and freaks out, a member of the Black Organization is on the hijacked bus! Haibara thinks of her past, and her sister, Akemi.

Conan figures out that one of the three people in the back is an accomplice, and indicates to the hijackers when one of the people on the bus is doing something. Conan figures out who the person is, and with the help of Jodie, is able to stop the hijackers. However, even after the hijackers are arrested, the bombs are left on the bus! Conan thinks everyone is off, but realizes something: Haibara is still on the bus! Can Conan save her in time? Jodie's incredible skills as an FBI agent are on display, as she helps Conan by taking down the bus hijackers. Haibara stays on the bus when it is about to explode, wanting to commit suicide. However, Conan runs in the bus and saves her, jumping out of the window, telling her that she cannot give up.   The Black Organization appear at the tail end, talking to Vermouth.

Conan and Kogoro are eating a quick dinner, where they meet a man who wants them to visit his apartment. While there, they find his room mate falls off their condo to their death. Megure, Takagi, and Chiba arrive on the scene. Was this an accident, or a cleverly planned murder?

Agasa takes the Detective Boys to a neighbor who is giving away his belongings before moving to England. While there Teruya Kanou's, the neighbor, Papillon is missing when the longcase clock strikes twelve and chimes twelve times. When Doyle's, the Papillon, collar is found inside an incinerator and the backdoor opens, Conan realizes that a culprit attempted to falsify the scene to give the impression Doyle ran away when in fact the culprit is hiding Doyle in the House to steal him afterward. Shino Hasuki's shoes are found near the crime scene and she is suspected of being the culprit. Haibara starts acting strange, and continues to do so for her next several appearances

Conan notices that there is glass wool in the incinerator and realizes who the culprit is. After gathering the guests, Conan reveals that the grandfather clock did not chime since the culprit changed the time on it and reveals that the culprit used the stereo to simulate the chimes. Doyle chased after the chime and is lured to the back of the stereo with food containing sleeping pills. Conan reveals that the culprit was after the jewelry on Doyle's collar which is worth a fortune. He reveals that the culprit is Yoshio Tsunashima; Tsunashima had reserved a small pendulum clock which was becoming slower by a minute per hour, meaning something was weighting down the pendulum which was revealed to be Doyle's collar. Tsunashima confesses to his crime and reveals he needed the money to continue to support the abandoned dogs he kept taking in. Kanou decides to give the collar to Tsunashima and not push for any charges. That following evening, they find out Kanou's other dog, Arthur, was the one who was placed Hasuki's shoes elsewhere. Conan reveals that Arthur wanted to prevent Hasuki from leaving so he could be with his love Christie, Hasuki's German Shepherd. Hasuki announces that she had accepted Kanou's proposal and will be joining him in England.

Conan, Kogoro, and Ran are all at a party. While there, they discover a locked wine cellar, and a man is found dead in it. How could the killer have murdered the victim, and then escaped from the locked wine cellar. Conan stuns Kogoro, and with the help of Officer Chiba and Wataru Takagi, is able to solve the case.

Ran, Kogoro, and Conan go to Shirahama on a vacation they won, and there meet a group of college students and introduced themselves as Maki Shinjo, Tatsuhiko Yura, Madoka Mitsui, Kanako Miyahara, and Kota Fuji. They are all in the same art club, but don't seem to get along well. When Madoka is drawing, she finds the body of one of her fellow students, Maki, stabbed in the heart.

Conan realizes that one of the young men is lying in his statement and heads to the adventure park to check it out and gather evidence. It is there that he discovers who the murderer is and obtains proof of his guilt. Once all the suspects of the crime are gathered in a room, Conan reveals a secret between two of the young men, then Kogoro makes a wrong deduction based on what Conan has revealed, it is then that Conan anesthetizes him and tells the real truth.

Heiji invites Mouri, Ran, and Conan to a celebration of the opening of the 3K restaurant by three American celebrities, a boxer, a baseballer, and a soccer player who Conan admires. Later a murder occurs. Inspector Goro Otaki begins an investigation, and Heiji and Conan help him. Conan is acting strangely... Conan is very excited to see the soccer player, who was his favorite soccer player growing up. Kazuha gets jealous when she sees Heiji talking to girls. Ran later asks Ray to autograph a jersey in Shinichi’s name, and he’s touched she remembers he’s a fan.   Conan is excited to see his favorite soccer player, who was his hero growing up.

Heiji and Conan begin their investigation. Whenever Heiji finds a clue that shows that Conan's hero is the murderer, Conan angrily rejects it. Conan investigates further and finally confronts the true culprit: the soccer player. The culprit reveals that the victim created false rumors about him and destroyed his life. Conan is crushed. Heiji later cheers Conan up while Ran and Kazuha mention how they look like brothers. When Conan and Heiji are investigating, anytime Heiji finds a clue that points to the soccer player, Conan tries to prove it as wrong. However, when Conan faces the facts, he tells Heiji that he wants to confront him alone. Conan has to confront the soccer player, who is the killer. Although it hurts him greatly, he does realize that justice comes before anything else, and is even hurt when the soccer player tries to weasel his way out of handing himself in. This depresses Conan. Later, Heiji helps cheer Conan up, and Kazuha comments on how they both look like brothers.

Conan is on the way home from Osaka, before so, he gives Ran a phone call as Shinichi. Later, they meet Sato and Takagi on the train who are transporting a drug dealer to the station. Sato goes to investigate a bomb and Takagi is tricked into letting the drug dealer go to the bathroom. Later the bomb was found out to have been a distraction. They rush back and find the drug dealer stabbed with a knife. Takagi wants to go on a date with Sato, via tickets to a show that Yumi gave him, but will he get up the courage? Shinichi calls Ran! Also, Takagi wants to take Sato on a date.

Conan, Takagi, and Sato come to the conclusion that the victim originally tricked Takagi, and then was murdered while Takagi was running to Sato. Conan points out the suspects of who the murderer is. After investigating and finding clues, Conan reveals the culprit. He tries to escape but is stopped by Takagi and Sato. Sato and Takagi's budding romance is explored.

Genta has been acting weird at school lately. The Detective Boys learn that he is being targeted by a killer. Genta tries to remember where he sees the killer. After eating ice cream, seeing the Flag of France, and looking at a store mirror, he heads to a barber shop. Afterwards the killer confronts him but Conan reveals it was a trap and that the killer is surrounded by cops. At the end of the episode Haibara thought it was the organization who followed them but discovers that the blond man was right-handed and tells Conan to always remember that Gin is left-handed

Kogoro heads to a hotel, to solve a case. On the way there, he meets with Detective Misao Yamamura, who is also visiting the hotel. An imposter is impersonating Kogoro at the hotel. Mouri decides to play along and pretend to be someone else to confront the imposter later. Later, Kogoro and Yamamura drink until later in the night. Afterwards the imposter is found hanged in his closet. Also, another body is discovered outside of the hotel, but it is much more decomposed. Conan knows that one of the three staff members at the hotel is responsible, but who?

Conan reveals that it is a murder and that is relates to an incident in the past of the hotel. With the help of Detective Yamamura, Conan is able to figure out the murderer, confront him, and get him arrested. Afterwards, Mouri picks up girls who are his fans and gives them a ride in the car.

Conan, The Detective Boys, Agasa, and Haibara all go to a beach, and meet Sonoko and Ran there. They meet a group of people who are all fishermen, including one mean and gruff sounding one getting a tan. Everyone decides to have dinner at a local hotel. While there, the man getting the tan doesn't answer his phone, even though he requested for the fishermen to meet him there. After a few tries, he finally answers one of their phones, but doesn't say anything, and only the tide is heard. Everyone runs to the beach, where they find him dead, covered in a fishing net. Inspector Sango Yokomizo arrives on the scene. Conan knows the killer is one of the three, but can he figure out who did it, and how? Also, why is Haibara acting so cold towards Ran? Haibara acts incredibly quiet around Ran. Ran believes that Haibara may hate her. When Genta asks Conan which girl's body attracted him more, Conan points out that the only decent one was that of the girl behind him. The girl turns out to be Ran. Haibara expresses sadness towards Conan's feelings for Ran, revealing possible feelings she herself has for Conan.

With the help of the Detective Boys, and Agasa, Conan solves the crime, and names the culprit, whom accidentally gives themself away as the killer but trying to put words in Inspector Yokomizo's mouth that he never said, and getting caught over it. Afterwards, Haibara wakes up to Ran, smiles, and introduces herself, not being shy to Ran anymore. At the end of the episode, Haibara formally introduces herself to Ran, showing that she will not hide from her anymore.

There, they meet a group of people who sell things and use ledgers, led by a village head. While everyone is doing chores, the village head is found dead, and everyone has an alibi! Can Conan solve the case?

Inspector Megure, Kogoro, Takagi, and Conan all investigate the crime. Conan solves the crime by confronting the killer with all of the evidence he has found. However, she tries to kill herself! Conan saves her in time, and the victim forgives the murderer, due to a misunderstanding by the victim that led the the murderer acting out her revenge in the first place. It turns out that Hoshino-san knows one of our heroes!

Sato is having an arranged marriage meeting with a man due to her mother's persistence. She arrives to find out it's Ninzaburo Shiratori. She proposes that if Takagi does not arrive to her before sunset, she will marry him whether she wants to or not. He accepts, but Takagi is busy with a store robbery. Three of the eye witnesses all give different description and three culprits are kept in the back of the police car. Conan on the phone prepares to help Takagi solve the case as Kudo Shinichi. Takagi is determined to not let Shiratori marry Sato! Also, Yumi has a plan that involves Takagi running in to save Sato just in time. Sato and Takagi's feelings for each other are heavily explored. Everyone knows about their feelings for each other, except Sato and Takagi themselves!

Takagi solves the case and arrests the culprit when he tries to make a dash out of the police car. Takagi catches up and gives up on going to Sato in time to stop the marriage as the sun is almost set and the car is too far away. His party comes to cheer him on and he runs. Conan manages to stop the marriage in time with Tomoaki Araide's help. Takagi manages to reach the restaurant but the sun has completely sunk. He then sees Sato around the corner who tells him he told her an emergency case has come up. Takagi smiles as he enters the car. Meanwhile Shiratori leaves the restaurant, disappointed in his close marriage. Conan comments how Takagi and Sato reminded him of Ran and himself. With a little help from Chiba, Conan, and Dr. Araide, Takagi is able to stop the almost kiss! And we get to know why Conan(Shinichi) is helping Takagi with his love! Ran sees Shuichi Akai in the resturant, and she thinks she have seen Akai before. Before she is about to kiss Shiratori, Sato finally admits to herself her strong feelings for Takagi, mentioning how much she'll miss him. Takagi stops the kiss in time!

Mouri wins a trip to Matsue from a lottery drawing, and while there they meet and join up with a Linked Verse group, which is a type of poetry. One of their members, a loan dealer, is killed, and Conan finds out that almost everyone has a motive to kill. Conan (Shinichi) expresses sadness when he goes with Ran to a shrine dedicated to the gods of marriage where she is waiting for her fortune to work, Shinichi is briefly shown and says to himself- "That's why I did not want to bring her here" with a sad and sorrowful look on his face.

Conan hasn't figured out who the culprit is, so he gets Mouri to participate in their Linked Verse Contest so he can have more time to observe the suspects. Conan is able to find out the killer is Shiina-san, who killed the loan dealer because he scammed their group out of money.

An earthquake occurs in Tokyo, and the morning after, a man is found knocked unconscious at a Temple. It is later discovered that the man was trying to rob the Temple, and that he was knocked out by the bells that fell on top of him. He lives much closer to a Temple that not only has more money, but is more famous. Why would the robber go out of his way to rob a further away Temple for less money? And could the robber have different motives other than robbery? Conan, Genta, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Detective Takagi try to solve the case!

The Detective Boys, Conan, Haibara, and Agasa visit the circus where a famous man is performing. Later, they meet up with a man who looks strikingly like the man from the circus. However, the man, named James Black, an American is later accidentally mistaken for the real person, and is kidnapped and held for ransom. The kidnappers plan to kill Black after they get the money. However, upon finally realizing that Black is not the man they were after, they decide to kidnap him, anyway. The only clue left behind by Black was that he wrote "P&A" on the ground by where he was kidnapped. Can Conan solve the case? James Black's first appearance. Haibara says that James is giving her a weird feeling and James seems to be acting too calmly being kidnapped plus some other obvious hints

Conan figures out, with the help of Sato, Takagi, and Yumi, what "P&A" means. They realize that the kidnappers are in a police car, and are masquerading as police officers. Conan, Sato, Takagi, Yumi, and other members of the police force use this to their advantage, and completely corner the kidnappers, saving Black. The mysterious man named Shuichi Akai is shown driving James Black away from the scene later, as Black remarks on how Conan is no ordinary boy. James and Shuichi seem to be working together and James refers to Conan by the name "Cool Guy" Because the photo of Conan in the Vermouth room's says this name.

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are all walking and are very hungry, so they stop by at a restaurant that Kogoro frequently visits. There is construction work going on next door, so the restaurant constantly shakes from the work, causing spills and broken plates. Later that night, the owner of the restaurant is found dead, and the cause is death is at first deemed an accident, as it is believed that a pot fell on his head. However, both Kogoro and Conan believe otherwise. Could this be more than just an accident?

Conan, Kogoro, and Ran are driving to a hot spring when the road gets closed due to snow, and so they accept an offer of staying the night at a nearby house, where they meet Yoshiro Daimon, a famous guitarist, Kazuki Daimon, his brother, Hatsuho Hojo, their housekeeper, Kayoko Daimon, Kazuki's wife, Genichiro Daimon, Daimon Industries President, and Tatsuko Daimon, his wife. The next day they discover the body of the company president dead.
