- Shizuka Kawai has the same name of a main protagonist in the manga and anime franchise Yu-Gi-Oh!.
- The use of MD Players would have been abnormal if the timeline of Detective Conan took place in the late 2010s or 2020s, since Sony has ceased development of MD devices, with the last of the players sold by March 2013.
