The culprit who drove Gisuke to suicide is Takashi Nanbu.

Conan explains the truth of the case. He makes Haibara prepare a pseudo backlight to tell apart the high lighter marks on the papers that were stepped upon. They reach the place where Umisuke had gathered the three suspects. Conan asks him to make them kneel and point the backlight at their boots, to tell apart those who had stepped on the highlighter in the room. Rumi manages to disarm Umisuke’s mobile phone, which was to be used to set off the bombs. The police arrive later and those trapped in the basement are rescued.

After the case, a Detective Badge is flicked into the basement, making Amuro checks it out in the basement when the trap door is suddenly closed. A silhouette of Rumi is shown attacking Amuro inside the basement. Amuro who had been knocked out regains consciousness after the kids wake him up. Rumi apologizes and says she lost her grip and accidentally let go of the trap door. Amuro hearing that, is left wondering whether it was all an illusion or not. It is also shown a shogi piece form on Rumi's back pocket which means it was indeed her who was inside the basement, retrieving her lost bishop shogi piece.

• Amuro's explanation of why he didn't tell the situation at first, and Kazami apologizing for taking action by himself.

• Shukichi background appearance when Kazami told Amuro about him.
• Haibara's line about there is nothing in the storage room.

• Conan's explanation about the blacklight mechanism.
• Umisuke telling the suspects that they almost arrive at the place where the meteorite could be found.

• In the manga, Amuro's camo jacket has some design on the upper half. In the anime, it is just a solid color.
• In the manga, Gisuke's hair was black. The anime changes his hair color to grey, making him looked older.
