While first using the pipe on the door, Conan realizes his body lacks the strength to batter the door open and bends open an iron grating of a ventilation shack and crawls his way to freedom through it. Meanwhile the kidnapper picks up the ransom and manages to get away shortly before the Detective Boys with Jun returns from the arcade to his house to find the police there.

Trivia
- Ogane is most likely a reference to the high school of the same name from 3rd Base Fourth.
- Goro Kitayama & Sachiko Ezaki's car is a 1989 black Bentley Mulsanne S. The license plate number is 新宿 33, ゆ 53-03 (Shinjuku 33, Yu 53-03).
- Tadashi Yoshizawa's truck is a 2001 Subaru Sambar.
- Although all of the Detective Boys have wristwatch flashlights, apparently, none of the real kids use their own watches to tell time, only to light up in dark places. Since Conan uses his to tell compass directions, such as Detective Boys Survival Case and Conan vs. Kaitou Kid, he probably uses if or time too.
- The kidnapper appeared to be driving a Busy Bee Delivery Truck.
- This case marks the third time that Conan has been kidnapped. The first time was Conan Edogawa Kidnapping Case, staged by his own parents, and the second time was The Farewell Wine Murder Case, which was also a fake kidnapping. Although this is the first real time that Conan had been kidnapped, although
- He was not chloroformed, like both other times, unless it was offscreen.
- He also was not bound with rope, like in his first kidnapping.
- This is also the first kidnapping where he was mistaken for the true Kidnapped Victim.
- This is also the first time that Conan, as a kidnapped victim, did not have a single one of his gadgets at all, not even his glasses, which he dropped.
- In short, this is the first time that Conan was kidnapped, and only had his wits in order to escape. Even in his first kidnapping, he could only hide, until his kidnappers left, however he still had to rely more on his wits at that time, since none of his gadgets were very helpful or usable at the time. In short, in Conan Edogawa Kidnapping Case, he had all of them, however they were no help at all. In this kidnapping case, he did not have ANY of them at all, except for his wristwatch flashlight, until he escaped and retrieved his glasses.
- This is the first case that Conan was barefoot.
- When Megure told Takagi to "call Tomogawa-kun, and tell him we need a facial composite done," he is probably referring to the Tokyo Female Police Sketch Artist, Detective Tomokawa... Well, in the anime, she is female, but in the manga it isn't specified if male or female. However, she is typically the sketch artist for the Tokyo department.
- This is the first case that Conan used his Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes and Anywhere Ball Dispensing Belt in front of Sato and Takagi, although Takagi was too preoccupied to notice.
- This is one of the first cases that Takagi ALMOST figures out the culprit trick by himself, however he will need JUST ONE HINT to figure it out completely.
- The Kushiro marshland sunset painting in Kataoka house is from The Crane's Return of a Favor Murder Case, but with an inverted orientation; the one with mountains is from The Wandering Artist Murder Case and also appears in Suzuki ship and in Yokosuka Castle from The Last Wizard of the Century, but is always without the castle; and the one with flowers is from Cooking Classroom Murder Case, appeared in Tachibana villa from The Bay of Revenge, and also appears in Kaze no Lalala.
