Works in Detective Conan
Tominaga has joined the production of the Detective Conan anime since 1996, starting with the first one hour special Moonlight Sonata Murder Case, and began to serve as key animator. Moreover, she was the sub-character designer for The Train Trick Murder Case. Tominaga has been an animation director since 1999, starting with The Locked Room in the Sky: Shinichi Kudo's First Case. Afterwards, she did key animation and animation direction irregularlly throughout the anime. Furthermore, she was credited as "富永まり" in The Twenty Year Old Murderous Intent: The Symphony Serial Murder Case.
In 2003, when Masato Sato became the director, the production staff had undergone a huge alteration, this led Tominaga replace Sudo for the anime character design role, she thus became the second anime character designer of Detective Conan. In addition, she served as the chief animation director for two TV specials, The Trembling Police Headquarters: 12 Million Hostages and Kaitou Kid's Miraculous Midair Walk . Meanwhile, she was also responsible for the animation direction work for loads of openings and endings. In mid-2007, Tominaga completely quit doing openings and endings in the anime, as a consequence, this relative work was then delivered to Keiko Sasaki.
In 2008, when Koujin Ochi became the director, Tominaga stepped down from the anime character designer, after that, she constantly did key animation for the Detective Conan movies. She was also involved in the red love arc of The Scarlet School Trip, in which she served as key animator. She was responsible for two frames of Shinichi and Ran kissing, and received compliment from the original author Gosho Aoyama.
