Camel successfully escapes from the island with Akai and Conan's help. He uses two reams of copy papers like bulletproof vest. The blood shown is from the fake blood bag stored in the cap Akai gave to him. A penlight was taped in the front side so that Akai can sniped it and burst the front side fake blood bag at almost the same time Chianti's bullet burst the back side fake blood bag.

After Camel falls into the sea, Gin plans to use a grenade and throw it to the sea to make sure Camel is death, but Akai successfully shot the grenade before it falls into the sea. The grenade then explode mid-air. Akai then make several random shots to scare away the Black Organization member. Eventually, they decide to leave the island when a fire boat appears to extinguish the fire that is burning the island.

On the boat, Vermouth tell the others that the man they shot earlier is Camel, showing his photograph. Gin then take Vermouth's phone and show the photo to Korn. It is revealed that Korn saw Camel two years ago, when Rum sent him two photos of Camel and Akai, who was a Black Organization member under the codename "Rye". Rum, who is in a black car, heard that and feel nostalgic, before warned the others that the boss is not happy that they attracted too much attention, but applauded them for killing Camel.

Back to Kudo Residence, it is decided that Camel should get a haircut. Conan, Akai, and Yusaku then explain how they save Camel and why Akai didn't shot the Black Organization members. Akai then revealed that Conan is the one who actually come up with the plan, which made Jodie impressed. Conan then heard Akai and Yusaku talked about tea party. Later, Camel revealed what Vodka had said about Rum. Apparently, aside from Rum's false eye, the other rumors of his appearance are lies Rum himself spread. Nowadays, Rum wears a disguise and goes by a ridiculous name.

Aftermath

Some time later, Rum is still in the car, thinking about the event two years ago, where Camel exposed Akai's identity as an FBI agent. Later, he wears his disguise as Kanenori Wakita and steps out from the car. He takes a look at Mouri Detective Agency, before enters Iroha Sushi.

Manga to anime changes

• Tim from Clash of Red and Black appears, whereas he doesn't in the manga.
• In the manga, the man killed by Gin in the beginning is unnamed, while in the anime his name is Jack, which is only known through the ending credit.
• In the shootout scene, voices of FBI agents can be heard. In the manga, only George can be heard, but the anime adds Daniel.

• The anime adds the scene where Jodie ruffles Conan's hair in admiration and Camel thanks Conan for saving him.
• The anime adds the scene from the next canon case in the episode, where Yusaku and Akai talk about the tea party event.

• This is the last episode where Miyuki Ichijo voiced Jodie Starling, as she passed away on October 24, 2023.
• Camel and Mark's getaway car is a 2023 Blue Ford Fiesta MkVI. The license plate number is 新宿 301, の • 7 23 (Shinjuku 301, No • 7 23).
• Rum's car, driven by two organization members and with a crow as bonnet statue, is a 1962 Black Bentley S3 "Standard Steel Saloon". The license plate number is 新宿 300, ち • 2 04 (Shinjuku 300, Chi • 2 04).
