Situation
Because of Kogoro's love for horses, he takes Ran and Conan to an OK corral ranch in Kisarazu, a city from Chiba Prefecture. One of their prize winning horses gets spooked and they all go running after her. They reach the horse and Conan finds blood on her horseshoe. They then find the farrier; one who shoes the horses, murdered.

Trivia
- This is the first case about horses before Thoroughbred Kidnapping Case, and is name after the famous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
- If curious about more informaion on the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, here are a few interesting links, which includes, how it got it's name, as well:
- Motoo Sugiyama's car is a 1996 Red BMW Z3 [E36/7].
- This is one of the first cases where a person actually apologised to Kogoro, Ran, and Conan for the mild disagreement that they overheard for a few seconds, unlike the real accusing shouting matches in front of them, and no apology.
- Japan is number one, when it comes to horse racing country rankings.
- Although this case stated that not all of their horses are there, due to it being in the middle of Horse Racing Season, however, that is twelve months long, in short, an entire year.
- The Nagasaki Police Doctor, Sakurai, did not seem to remember Kogoro, even though they probably met in A Honey Cocktail Murder Case.
- In A Honey Cocktail Murder Case, Doctor Sakurai was working with the Nagasaki Prefecture Police, however in this case, he seems to be working in the Chiba Prefecture, so he may have transferred prefectures.
