Situation

The detective boys become friends of a widow, when she was dating with a man, the man dies.

Accidental death?

Conan notices a few weird clues and believes it to not be a mere accident.

Indeed, it wasn't an accident but a skillfully planned murder by Tomoko Komori. It is revealed she used a trick to make Kajiki think the phone was floating so he'd try to grab it and lose his balance. Kajiki would then hold himself on the railing which she had rotted beforehand so he would fall. She also made him drunk to diminish his capacity to have balance and also dug out one of his contact lenses making him more unbalanced. She had also used the Detective Boys so she could lure out Kajiki whom she knew liked children. The police concluded that she also murdered all her previous husbands and disguised those as accidents, making her a serial killer. She then shows her true evil nature, but is ultimately taken by Megure and Takagi. The Detective Boys look at her sadly.

Aftermath

At the end, the Detective Boys didn't learn their mistake of going to see random people as they ran after a lady who was searching for something in a tree much to Conan and Ai's dismay.

• The flower park the kids visit is in Sasago-cho, a district that appeared in The Job Request from Inspector Megure.
