She is very friendly with Naeko, so much so that she often pushes her to take initiatives in her love story with Chiba. She entered police forces at the same time as her superior Yumi and is in charge of Beika Town. She owns a license to drive the mini patrol car although she doesn't drive it, preferring to let her more experienced friend Yumi drive.

At the end of the case, it is revealed that the jewelry Miwako Sato had supposedly wanted to buy was in fact the one Yumi wanted. She used a ruse in which she told Sato to tell other officers that she wanted to buy some luxurious jewelry. The officers in question would then buy it to satisfy Sato, the one they love before the latter herself giving it to Yumi since she doesn't like luxurious ornaments. Detective Takagi and Inspector Shiratori having fallen into her trap, she tells Numata that the next one that will fall into her scheme will be Detective Takano.
