However Agent Jodie, James, and Camel remain hot on his trail and with help from Akai and his brother Shukichi they manage to corner him. They force him to crash his car, and upon learning Jodie is with the FBI he becomes enraged but breaks down when Jodie reveals he misunderstood the entire case involving his father. His witness testimony fifteen years ago hadn't been ignored, it led to the capture of the copycat four years later who was an accomplice in the original crime, he had confessed in return for immunity for the first crime and Osamu family hadnt been forced into exile from the US due to shame but put in witness protection. Makoto Ishihara had indeed committed the original crime, Inoue was mistaken that the alibi she gave for her father should have cleared his name as he had the assistance of an accomplice and her family had been put in witness protection because they were the family of a perpetrator rather than due to her fathers death in custody. With the perpetrator dead and the accomplice given immunity the first case was closed as unresolved to hide the plea deal, neither Osamu nor Maiko learnt the true events of fifteen years ago.</spoiler> |

Situation
Japan is about to celebrate the world's largest sports festival, "WSG-World Sports Games", in Tokyo. In line with the opening ceremony, it is announced that the world's first "Vacuum Superconducting Linear" train, boasting a maximum speed of 1,000 km/h which combined all of Japan's technologies, will be opened to the public between Shin-Nagoya Station and Shibahama Station and established in Tokyo. As the world's attention is garnered, an incident occurs at a party venue where famous tournament sponsors are gathered, leading to an abnormal situation where top dogs of companies are kidnapped one after another. Behind the scenes are Shuichi Akai who monitors the incident, and the FBI who waits for orders from Akai.
Conan's reasoning reveals the relevance of the apocalyptic WSG kidnapping incident that occurred in Boston, USA, fifteen years ago, and that the incident was also under the jurisdiction of the FBI. Is this a coincidence? What is going to happen in Japan, where many types of people from all over the world are gathered?
