Background
Tome is a CSI member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, and is often seen investigating alongside with his daughter or other forensic men at the crime scene during cases where Megure is the head inspector. He is a senior crime scene investigator, which is the highest achievable rank in forensic police. He is notorious for his always precise details and will be asked more questions than other forensics officer by the police. He is one of the few veterans of the forenscis police and knows a lot of old tricks to take clues, like one that he taught to Takagi.
Personality
Tome seems to be very serious and passionate with his work. He, like many other policemen, listen to what Conan has to say, although Conan sometimes says something like: "Mouri wants you to check up on this", or "Mouri asks if this was found". This is to asks him about forensic evidence he has collected, and Tome is often happy to answer. His daughter seems to have inherited this character from him.
Appearance
He is a seemingly older man, wears glasses and has black eyes and dark hair that are always covered by a blue cap. He usually wears a blue forensic uniform in his work and always wears essential gloves for his investigations.

Different looks
Manga vs. anime
- In the manga often appeared an unnamed forensic officer with his character design.
- His character design is reused in Night Baron Murder Case for a forensic member of Shizuoka Prefectural Police.
Trivia
- Throughout the cases he appeared, he became more and more thinner which is a contrast we can see if we compare his appearance in episode 8 to his appearance in episode 605, which probably means that he had lost weight.
