Biography
Ayako Tauchi mostly worked under the episodes done by Sunshine Corporation. She joined the production of the Detective Conan anime in 2001, starting with the 1st part of Kogoro Mouri's Imposter, and did in-between animation back then. The following year, she was promoted to a key animator after the 2nd part of The Kanmon Strait of Friendship and Murderous Intent.
In 2005, Tauchi began to serve as assistant animation director in the 2nd part of The Shinto Shrine Torii's Surprising Code, assisting the main animation director - also from Sunshine Corporation, Akiko Kawashima. Until the 2nd part of Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 7, she became a proper animation director; she was in charge of the animation correction in the first-half of the episode, and clearly her own style was progressively developing, becoming somewhat different from Kawashima's. Starting The Pursuit of the Fish E-mail, Tauchi took over the animation director position (subsequently after Kawashima stepped down from the animation director role) and worked alone as animation director.
She quit the anime production team after finishing the animation directing work for Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story - Fake Wedding and has not returned yet.
