Case
Situation
Japan is about to celebrate the world's largest sports festival, "WSG-World Sports Games", in Tokyo. In line with the opening ceremony, it is announced that the world's first "Vacuum Superconducting Linear" train, boasting a maximum speed of 1,000 km/h which combined all of Japan's technologies, will be opened to the public between Shin-Nagoya Station and Shibahama Station and established in Tokyo. As the world's attention is garnered, an incident occurs at a party venue where famous tournament sponsors are gathered, leading to an abnormal situation where top dogs of companies are kidnapped one after another. Behind the scenes are Shuichi Akai who monitors the incident, and the FBI who waits for orders from Akai.
Conan's reasoning reveals the relevance of the apocalyptic WSG kidnapping incident that occurred in Boston, USA, fifteen years ago, and that the incident was also under the jurisdiction of the FBI. Is this a coincidence? What is going to happen in Japan, where many types of people from all over the world are gathered?

Resolution
On Conan's cue, Jodie makes a phone call to all the passengers listed on the Hyper Linear's passenger list. All the passengers' phones ring, except for one,
Maiko Shirahato, who reveals herself to Conan and Masumi on the Hyper Linear. Shirahato's phone had been damaged when she went to sabotage the MRI room back at the airport. Shirahato reveals herself as the daughter of Makoto Ishihara (their names are
anagrams), and wants to avenge her father who she said was falsely accused by the FBI by killing Alan.

Attempted Murder & Train Crash

|
Time:

Daytime
|
Culprit:
|
Osamu Inoue
|
Osamu made the plan to Demolished the Maglev Hyper Linear at Tokyo Olympic Stadium.
|
|
His motive for planning the crimes with Shirahato is to avenge the first victim from the incident that occurred fifteen years ago in Atlanta - Kou Miyazawa, who is revealed to be Osamu's father.
Osamu manages to run off the train with the leak out of Gas turbine-electric after being outed as the accomplice. He activates his back-up plan to force the train Alan and the others on to crash into a nearby train station. Luckily through Conan and Sera’s efforts they manage to barely survive the train wreck.
Osamu at the same time is driving in his car attempting to evade the authorities and escape. However Agent Jodie, James, and Camel remain hot on his trail and with help from Akai and his brother Shukichi they manage to corner him. They force him to crash his car, and upon learning Jodie is with the FBI he becomes enraged but breaks down when Jodie reveals he misunderstood the entire case involving his father. His witness testimony 15 years ago hadn't been ignored, it led to the capture of the copycat 4 years later who was an accomplice in the original crime, he had confessed in return for immunity for the first crime and Osamu family hadnt been forced into exile from the US due to shame but put in witness protection. Makoto Ishihara had indeed committed the original crime, Inoue was mistaken that the alibi she gave for her father should have cleared his name as he had the assistance of an accomplice and her family had been put in witness protection because they were the family of a perpetrator rather than due to her fathers death in custody. With the perpetrator dead and the accomplice given immunity the first case was closed as unresolved to hide the plea deal, neither Osamu nor Maiko learnt the true events of 15 years ago.

Trivia
- The movie was projected to break the box office revenue record of the previous movie. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic during Golden Week, theaters in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hyogo were closed. The movie earned a total of 7.65 billion yen from its domestic run.
- The special guest voice actor for this movie is actress Minami Hamabe playing Hyper linear staff Eri Ishioka.
- Due to poor performance of previous movies 22 and 23 outside the Catalan region, this movie was not dubbed in Spanish (Castilian) at release, being played on Spanish theaters only subbed on the Japanese version, alongside with the Catalan dub.
- Despite the french dub of the series having stopped after episode 214 and movie 5, this movie will be the first movie of the franchise to get a french dub in 12 years, with the original anime voice actors from all characters that appeared prior to episode 214, with the notable exception of Takagi, whose voice actor moved to France, and Kogoro and Megure, whose voice actor died in 2015. In addition, this will be the first movie to have the same french voice actors as in the series, as the five first movies had different voice actors due to licensing issues.
