Shinsuke Akiyama
Shinsuke Akiyama (秋山 信介 Akiyama Shinsuke ), formerly Aburakawa (油川 ), age 26, was a police officer from Nagano Prefecture. His name comes from samurais Akiyama Nobutomo and Aburakawa Nobuyoshi.[1] He appears in The Darkness of the Prefectural Police.
Arai
Arai is an officer in the Tokyo MPD, criminal investigation, section 5. His wife just had a baby. He is only cited in Takagi's Last Case.
Soushi Hidaka
Soushi Hidaka (氷高 創志 Hidaka Sōshi ), age 31, was an assistant inspector in the investigative cooperation department of the Tokyo MPD. He is killed by one of three criminals he was acquainted with at Beika Shrine. He appears in The Unlucky Matchmaking.
Detective Irabu
Irabu (伊良部 Irabu ) is a detective from Naha Central Police Station, Okinawa Prefecture, and Tokashiki's assistant. He is a big fan of Sleeping Kogoro, who is known by the locals for being a huge glutton after winning a food-eating competition against Heiji. His name comes from Irabu Island and the former town of the same name in that prefecture. He appears in A Course Without Protest, but his name is only shown in the anime version.
Kuroto Kai
Kuroto Kai (甲斐 玄人 Kai Kurōto ) was a Nagano police officer. He died six years ago after falling off a cliff while horseback riding. His starved body was found several days later. He was one of the best archers in the area and could only be rivaled by Akira Tatsuo. He was a mentor for Kansuke Yamato, who later became a police officer to find the truth behind his death. He appears in Furinkazan.
Shoji Kano
Shoji Kano (鹿野 晶次 Kano Shōji ), formerly Tsuchiya (土屋), age 45, was a police officer from Nagano Prefecture. He was killed in a serial murder related to his illegal gun smuggling business. His name comes from samurais Tsuchiya Masatsugu and Hajikano Tadatsugu.[1] He appears in The Darkness of the Prefectural Police.
Detective Kubota
Kubota (久保多 Kubota ) is a detective from Shizuoka Prefectural Police and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He appears in A Small Client, but his name is only shown in the anime version.
Kusukawa
Kusukawa (楠川 Kusukawa ) is a former police detective working under Toyama at the Osaka Prefectural Police, but got discharged due to his gambling addiction. He later became a private detective working for the Haido detective agency and is Kogoro's good friend. He appears in Heiji Hattori's Desperate Situation!.
Officer Misawa
Misawa (三沢 Misawa ) is a Shizuoka police officer and karate champion with a third-dan black belt. He is knocked out while on guard duty. His name comes from professional wrestler Mitsuharu Misawa.[2] He appears in Night Baron Murder Case.
Detective Miyazaki
Miyazaki (宮崎 Miyazaki ) is a detective from the Tokyo MPD, Division One Investigations. He appears in Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 5.
Touko Momosaki
Touko Momosaki (百崎 橙子 Momosaki Tōko ), age 28, was a Traffic Department Executive Division Sergeant, with a third-degree black belt in judo. She often went to Beika karaoke along with Shiori and the hostess Yumiko, who were her high school classmates and close friends. She was assaulted in a park restroom and beaten to death. She left a hint to the culprit's identity right before dying. Her name is derived from "hundred" (百) and "orange" (橙).[3] She appears in The Target is the Metropolitan Police Traffic Department.
Rokuro Momota
Rokuro Momota (百田 陸朗 Momota Rokurō ) was the Superintendent General of the Japanese police seven years ago, before Hakuba replaced him, and is now retired. He appears in Wild Police Story, while is only cited in the anime version.
Superintendent Morimura
Morimura (森村 Morimura ) was a superintendent of Tokyo Metropolitan Police. He was killed by the Whistling Killer during a hit-and-run incident twenty years ago. He appears in The Scar that Evokes the Past.
Kazushi Nakamichi
Kazushi Nakamichi (中道 和志 Nakamichi Kazushi ), age 38, is a police officer from Chiba. He is one of Kogoro's classmates from Beika University and the judo club's former leader. His name comes from Toshikazu Nakamichi.[4] He appears in Kogoro's Class Reunion Murder Case.
Naori
Naori[5] is a Tokyo MPD policewoman who works under Megure. She appears in The Celebrities' Secret.
Detective Oda
Oda (小田 Oda ) is a detective from the Tokyo MPD, Division One Investigations, Section Three. He loves Sato and is jealous of Takagi, much often to boycott their dates along with several other officers. Often, when a huge case is closed, he likes to go drinking along with other officers that same night. His name comes from the baseball player Kohei Oda.[6] He appears in Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 5.
Hachizo Onizuka
Hachizo Onizuka (鬼塚 八蔵 Onidzuka Hachizō ), age 55, is a police instructor at the Metropolitan Police Academy in Fuchu, Tokyo, and an old friend of Sato's father. He has trouble dealing with problem students in his own classroom. He was the instructor of Kogoro, Rei Furuya, Wataru Date, Jinpei Matsuda, Kenji Hagiwara, and Hiromitsu Morofushi. He appears in Wild Police Story.
Radish Redwood
Radish Redwood (ラディッシュ・レッドウッド Radisshu Reddouddo ) is a police inspector from New York City. He can speak Japanese because his wife is from Japan. Since Yusaku Kudo helped him in a case, they became friends. Sharon disguised as him to help Yukiko escape a traffic ticket one year ago. His name was taken from Shigeru Hiiragi.[7] He appears in the Shinichi Kudo's New York Case.
Mamoru Saegusa
Mamoru Saegusa (三枝 守 Saegusa Mamoru ), age 37, was a rogue police inspector and squad leader from Nagano Prefecture. He has been arrested for illegal arms trafficking and narrowly escaped murder by someone who suffered from his illegal activities. His name comes from samurais Saegusa Moritomo and Saegusa Morinao.[1] He appears in The Darkness of the Prefectural Police.
Yusuke Sakata
Yusuke Sakata (坂田 祐介 Sakata Yūsuke ), age 26, is a police detective from Osaka, Investigation Unit 1 at Tojiri Station. He works under Goro Otaki and gives Heiji and Conan a tour of the city. He appears in The Naniwa Serial Murder Case.
Toji Samezaki
Toji Samezaki (鮫崎 島治 Samezaki Tōji ), age 62, is the former superintendent of the Tokyo Homicide Department and a close collegue of Kogoro, and retired two years ago. Twenty years ago, his 21-year-old daughter Yoshimi, a clerk at Tokyo bank, was accidentally shot dead during a robbery by Saizo Kano's gang, and he was brought into the case along with Kogoro. Even though he retired, he still shows extraordinary enthusiasm for solving a case. He and Heiji's father are old friends who used to face off in kendo tournaments, though he was no match for Heizo. He appears in The Twenty Year Old Murderous Intent: The Symphony Serial Murder Case.
Inspector Sato
Sato (佐藤 Satō ) is a Tokyo Metropolitan Police inspector who appeared briefly as a gag. He is a burly middle aged man, a smoker, with a beard, buzz cut and widow's peak. Takagi volunteered to go on a stakeout with Sato, expecting to be working with a different Sato. Upon discovering the mistake, they remarked that Sato is a common family name. He appears in The Truth Behind the Urban Legend.
Kazuma Shiroyama
Kazuma Shiroyama (城山 数馬 Shiroyama Kazuma ), age 46, is an East Okuho police officer and a big fan of Shinichi. Since the incident a year ago, he adopts Daiki Hinohara, the village mayor's orphaned son. The origin of his name is Mount Shiroyama and Kazuma-no-yu.[8] He appears in Murderer, Shinichi Kudo.
Detective Takano
Takano (高野 Takano ) is an Assistant Police Inspector from the Tokyo MPD, Division One Investigations, Section Three. He appears in Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 5.
Shigeru Takeda
Shigeru Takeda (竹田 繁 Takeda Shigeru ) was a police inspector and squad leader from Nagano Prefecture. He was killed by Shinsuke Akiyama in relation with the illegal gun smuggling activities he was doing with Mamoru Saegusa and Shoji Kano. His name comes from samurai Takeda Nobushige.[1] He appears in The Darkness of the Prefectural Police.
Detective Tamiya
Tamiya (田宮 Tamiya ) is a police detective from Tokyo MPD, First Investigation Division, Section Three. He appears in The Indiscriminate Stadium Threatening Case and Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story.
Inspector Tokashiki
Tokashiki (渡嘉敷 Tokashiki ) is an inspector from Naha Central Police Station, Okinawa Prefecture, and a big fan of Sleeping Kogoro, who is known by the locals for being a huge glutton after winning a food-eating competition against Heiji. Detective Waku
Waku (和久 Waku ) is a sour-looking assistant police inspector from Hyogo Prefecture and a good friend of Otaki. He appears in Miracle at Koshien Ball Park! The Defiants Face the Dark Demon.
Shiori Yagi
Shiori Yagi (八木 紫織 Yagi Shiori ), age 28, was a Traffic Department Executive Division Assistant Inspector. Touko and the hostess Yumiko were her high school classmates and close friends, and they often went to Beika karaoke. A woman who thinked of her juniors, she invited Naeko, who was worried about her love, to karaoke to relieve her worries. She was the second victim in a serial murder case, after Touko, and was thrown off a building to her death. She left a hint on the culprit, the traffic recidivist Kengo Aono, right before dying from blood loss. The origin of her name is from "eight" (八) and "purple" (紫).[3] She appears in The Target is the Metropolitan Police Traffic Department.
Unnamed officers
A Shirahama police officer and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He is not used to unnatural deaths, so he asks Kogoro, who happened to be here, to help him with an investigation. He appears in The White Sandy Beach Murder Case.

The Fukui Prefecture police inspector. He does not trust detectives very much, but is not straight-laced and will do what Heiji and the famous Sleeping Kogoro ask him to do. He appears in And Then There Were No Mermaids.

At first, he did not trust Shinichi, but after he saw his reasoning, he was impressed. When Shinichi become a suspect in an attempted murder, he could not accept the fact and listened to Heiji solving the case. He appears in Murderer, Shinichi Kudo.
A Shizuoka Prefectural Police detective from ten years ago. He was an understanding detective who listened to Akai's reasoning, but his face turned red involuntarily when the obvious solution was revealed. He appears in The Wizard of the Ripples.

Mark Aidan (マーク・アイダン Māku Aidan ), age 38, is a Singapore Police Assistant Inspector. He is weak to beautiful women. He appears in The Fist of Blue Sapphire.
Detective Akahoshi
Detective Akahoshi (赤星 Akahoshi ) is a detective from the Tokyo MPD, Division One Investigations, Section Three. He is modeled after his voice actor, the former pro baseball player Norihiro Akahoshi.[9] He appears in Dimensional Sniper.
Aoki
Aoki is Otaki's cousin and an officer in the Kanagawa Police Precinct. He is only cited in The Private Eyes' Requiem.
Tadao Azegami
Tadao Azegami (畔上 忠男 Azegami Tadao ), age 52, is a Kitanosawa Village policeman, Niigata Prefecture, since before the dam's construction, who works under Watanabe. He appears in Quarter of Silence.
Nina Balmer
Nina Balmer (ニーナ Nīna ) was a Europol agent and Jodie's friend. Her life was threatened by the Black Organization from a certain incident. After locating her in Frankfurt, Kir tried to let her escape, but she is shot to death by Gin. She appears in Black Iron Submarine.
Inspector Charlie
Charlie (チャーリー Chārī ), age 45, is an inspector from the New York Police Department. Although being American, he is also fluent in Japanes. He is a strict person with a strong sense of justice, and does not mind shooting Kaitou Kid to capture him. When Kid steals the Sunflower painting in a dangerous way, he accuses him of being a murderer and a terrorist. On the other hand, he has no prejudice against children and, after observing Conan's insight and agility, is convinced of his ability as the "Kid Killer", and is pleased to be helped by him. He appears in Sunflowers of Inferno.
Hans
Hans (ハンス Hansu ) is a Europol agent and the network center manager in Frankfurt, Germany. He appears in Black Iron Submarine.
Leon Lowe
Leon Lowe (レオン・ロー Reon Rō ), age 43, is a former Singapore policeman until two years ago, when he retired and became a criminal behavior psychologist. He is also fluent in Japanese. He covets the legendary Blue Sapphire diamond. He appears in The Fist of Blue Sapphire.
Mark
Mark (マーク Māku ) is a policeman from New York Police Department and Charlie's fellow acquaintance. In Japan, where the possession of handguns is prohibited, Charlie secretly prepares a gun with him. He only talks on phone with Charlie in Sunflowers of Inferno.
Tsutomu Muranaka
Tsutomu Muranaka (村中 努 Muranaka Tsutomu ), age 41[10], is a former Senior Superintendent of the Tokyo MPD, First Investigative Division, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He is considered to be a career MVP, because he was in the same generation as Megure and rose to the fourth highest rank. During his active career, he was feared as "Muranaka the Demon" (鬼の村中 Oni no Muranaka ), but several years ago he suffered a serious injury to his right shoulder and retired. He plans to marry Christine Richard, whom he met at the hospital. He appears in The Bride of Halloween.
Osamu Narasawa
Osamu Narasawa (奈良沢 修 Narasawa Osamu ), age 48, was an Assistant Chief Inspector from Beika Police Station, transfered from the Tokyo MPD, Division One Investigations, after his chief Makoto Tomonari's death the previous summer. He had great respect for Odagiri and followed his orders conscientiously. He was killed during a serial murder case involving Ran Mouri. He left to Conan a hint on the culprit before his death. He appears in Captured in Her Eyes.
Ayami Ogino
Ayami Ogino (荻野 彩実 Ogino Ayami ), age 30, is an inspector from the Saitama Prefectural Police, Division One Investigations. When Yokomizo worked there, she was his junior in terms of seniority and later replaced him. During a police conference, she takes notes on a PC. A big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro and Shinichi Kudo, she is also amazed by Conan's achievements. She is knocked out by Irish, disguised as Matsumoto, and saved by Megure's squad. She appears in The Raven Chaser.
Rishi Ramanathan
Rishi Ramanathan (リシ・ラマナサン Rishi Ramanasan ), age 29, is a Singapore reserve police officer who works under Mark Aidan. He is an expert in criminal behavioral psychology and was once Leon Lowe's apprentice. He is fluent in Japanese because his father, who died in an accident five years ago, was a marine biologist in Japan. He appears in The Fist of Blue Sapphire.
Detective Sasamoto
Sasamoto (笹本 Sasamoto ) is a detective from the Niigata Prefectural Police, who works as Watanabe's assistant, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He appears in Quarter of Silence.
Yoichiro Shiba
Yoichiro Shiba (芝 陽一郎 Shiba Yōichirō ), age 31, was an officer from Jonan Police Station, transfered from the Tokyo MPD, Division One Investigations, after his chief Tomonari's death the previous summer. He lived in an apartment of Maison Park Mansion, in Midoridai. He had great respect for Odagiri and followed his orders conscentiously. He was killed in a serial murder case involving Ran Mouri. He appears in Captured in Her Eyes.
Nobukatsu Tomonari
Nobukatsu Tomonari (友成 伸克 Tomonari Nobukatsu ) was the Chief Inspector from the Tokyo MPD, Division One Investigations, and Megure's senior. He died on duty at age 49 due to a cronic heart attack the previous summer caused by the hot temperature. After refusing the ambulance to not ruin the stakeout, he tried to hail a taxi on his own, but collapsed on the side of the road before finding it. Sato, who left the investigation to his subordinates Narasawa and Shiba, found him and urgently transported him to Tohto University Hospital, but he died during surgery. He was married and Makoto, his only son, hated the police for their involvement in his death. He appears in Captured in Her Eyes.
Officer Uehira
Uehira (上平 Uehira ), age 55, is a police officer from Koumi Island, under Tokyo jurisdiction, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. Since unaccustomed to major incidents on his peaceful island, he relies heavily on Megure and the others, but fully cooperates with an investigation. He appears in Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure.
Tadayoshi Uno
Tadayoshi Uno (宇野 忠義 Uno Tadayoshi ) is the Tokyo Police Headquarters Senior Superintendent, as Odagiri's right-hand. He appears in The Lost Ship in the Sky.
Detective Watanabe
Watanabe (渡辺 Watanabe ) is a detective from the Niigata Prefectural Police and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He has a strong character, with an unusual voice, and speaks very slowly. He is modeled after his voice actor, the cameraman Yoichi Watanabe, and even wears his knit hat, which is his trademark. He appears in Quarter of Silence.

Officer Arai
Arai (新井 Arai ) is a Beika Police Station officer, stationed at the police box in front of Beika Station, and a good acquaintance of Takagi. He appears in The Vanished Policeman.
Detective Baba
Baba (馬場 Baba ), age 42, is a high-ranked police detective from the Chiba Prefecture Police. He is a big fan of the famous "Dancing Kogoro", who solves the case while dancing to Yoko Okino's song. He is modeled after the real-life Japanese professional wrestler Giant Baba.[12] He appears in The Bay of Revenge.
Officer Chiba
Chiba (千葉 Chiba )[13]is a police officer from Shizuoka Prefectural Police. He only appears in the anime version of The Triplet's Country Home Murder Case.
Officer Daimatsu
Daimatsu (大松 Daimatsu ) is a policeman from Iwaki Station, Fukushima Prefecture, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He appears in Place Exposed to the Sun.
Hironobu Eguchi
Hironobu Eguchi (江口 博信 Eguchi Hironobu ) is an officer from the Beika Police and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He appears in The Framed Great Detective.
Detective Ezomatsu
Ezomatsu (蝦夷松 Ezomatsu ) is a detective from Kushiro Police Station, Hokkaido Prefecture. Since Kogoro's name hasn't reached Hokkaido yet, he does not recognize the famous detective. According to him, the problem with amateur detectives is that they disturb the crime scene without permission. His name comes from Ezo (蝦夷), an archaic term referring to Hokkaido and its people before the Japanese colonization of the region. He appears in The Crane's Return of a Favor Murder Case.
Detective Fujii
Fujii (藤井 Fujii ), age 27, is a Yamanashi Prefecture Police Sergeant and Motohashi's assistant. Unlike ordinary assistant detectives who only deliver information, he actively participates in solving a case. He appears in Chase the Miyama Stag Beetle.
Torazo Fukamachi
Torazo Fukamachi (深町 虎三 Fukamachi Torazō ), age 63, is a former Superintendent from the MPD who runs Tiger Trading, a company in Kokura, Fukuoka. He was Kogoro's senior and was called "The Tiger of Sakuradamon" at the time. However, contrary to that image, he is quite a small person. He had injured his knee for several years and had been walking near his office every morning for rehabilitation. He is married and Torahiko is his only son. He appears in The Northern Kyushu Mystery Tour.
Inspector Goto
Goto (後藤 Gotō ) is an inspector from the Nishi-Sumida Police Station. He is suave and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He appears in Hidden Circumstances of the Falling Incident.
Akira Haraguchi
Akira Haraguchi (原口 明 Haraguchi Akira ), age 31, is an inspector from Niigata Prefecture Police. He appears in The Unsolvable Ice Trap.
Detective Hayashi
Hayashi (林 Hayashi ), age 32, is a detective from Yamanashi Prefectural Police, who works as Shimokawa's assistant, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He appears in The Mysterious Prophetic Buddha.
Officer Hayashi
Hayashi (林 Hayashi ) is a police officer from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police who works under Megure. He appears in The Moving Target.
Officer Higashino
Higashino (東野 Higashino ), age 30, is a police officer from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police who works under Megure. He appears in Rondo in Bad Company.
Shouhei Hino
Shouhei Hino (日野 昌平 Hino Shōhei ), age 41, is a police detective from Nishitama Station, Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. He cannot have his subordinates freely giving out case reports, due to their confidentiality. Unlike most of the Japanese policemen, whom he considers are all his most avid admirers, he is one of the few that do not give credibility to the famous Sleeping Kogoro, saying that someone is probably solving the cases for him while he is sleeping, but nobody believes him. At his first meeting with that stupid detective in Kagekuwa Village, he does not want the latter's help in their investigation, asking him to do what he wants without getting in his way. Conan is really happy for his right observation, being clearly a compliment to the true famous detective, while Kogoro is really furious and calls him a rude bastard. Conan pretends to support Kogoro who does not need the detective's help to solve the case, and Kogoro swears that he'll show Hino what he is capable of with Hitoshi Shinkai, the officer from Kagekuwa substation. However, even if he does not want to help him, Kogoro ends up participating in the search by himself the following day, and both ended up in the same place, but Conan solved the murder case alone and was scolded by Kogoro for having made them worry so much. He also notes with surprise Conan's intuition. He appears in The Tenth Passenger.
Detective Hirano
Hirano (平野 Hirano ) is a detective of the Tokyo Police Eastern side who works as Taizo Sakurada's assistant. He appears in The Man Who Called for an Ambulance.
Detective Hirose
Hirose (広瀬 Hirose ) is a detective from Matsue Police Station, Shimane Prefecture, who works under Yasugi, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. His name comes from a former town in that prefecture.[14] He appears in The 14th Round of the Matsue Tamatsukuri Linked Verse Contest.
Kango Hisamoto
Kango Hisamoto (久本 完吾 Hisamoto Kango ), age 50, is a detective from Josai Police Department and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He carefully proceeds with an investigation, so as not to make a mistake just like Isao Takeoka, a former co-worker five years ago. He appears in The Day Kogoro Mouri Ceased Being a Detective.
Detective Inoki
Inoki (猪木 Inoki ), age 28, is a police detective from the Chiba Prefecture Police who works as Baba's assistant. He is a big fan of the famous "Dancing Kogoro", who solves the case while dancing to Yoko Okino's song. He is modeled after the real-life Japanese professional wrestler Antonio Inoki.[12] He appears in The Bay of Revenge.

Norio Kasamatsu (笠松 則男 Kasamatsu Norio ), age 52, is a detective from Beika Police First Division who works under a supervisor. He harshly judges people like Megure and Kogoro, who think that people can change easily. Moreover, even if he is a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro, he does not want the involvement of a former police detective, since he is an outsider now. He appears in The Interrogation Room.
Kenzo Katsuragi
Kenzo Katsuragi (葛城 健三 Katsuragi Kenzō ), age 45, is the chief inspector of the Police HQ First Division S.I.T. (Special Investigation Team), tasked with handling hostage situations such as kidnappings or hijackings. He notes with surprise that Conan knows a lot about the S.I.T., but does not want a kid on the crime scene and not even Kogoro's help, even if he must give up since it is requested by the victim's wife. However, he is well disposed to join an investigation with Megure when kidnappings for ransom became a murder case. He is later surprised by the famous Sleeping Kogoro. Kazuri Keitoku
Kazuri Keitoku (慶徳 かずり Keitoku Kazuri ), age 28, is a Chiba prefectural police detective, who works as Teruhiko Motoi's assistant, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. In order to recreate the crime scene, Kogoro makes her work very hard by having row a boat, but the experiment ends without any particular results, so she drops her shoulders in disappointment. She appears in The Tidal Park Comeback Case.

Soichi Narutaki (鳴滝 壮市 Narutaki Sōichi ), age 59, is a Yamanashi Prefectural police detective who works in Kofu station. He likes fireflies and lost his family last year, because a landslide struck his house in a small mountain village. Mayu, his cute grand-daughter who especially loved, was Haibara's look-alike. Inspector Tamana
Tamana (玉名 Tamana ) is an inspector from Kumamoto Prefectural Police. He is a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro, but Ran's kidnapping is certainly an issue to handle delicately. He even got a call from Megure earlier, who requests that Kogoro leaves the investigation to them. He understands Kogoro's feelings, but he doesn't think Ran's father can make any rational judgments in his current state of mind, especially since his daughter's life is at stake here. Since Kogoro understands, he accepts his cooperation, but following all of their instructions and refraining from taking any careless action. He also trusts Conan's deduction to close the real case. His name comes from a place in that prefecture.[18] He appears in The Smash of Determination and Love.

Sumio Tateno
Sumio Tateno (立野 寿巳男 Tateno Sumio ), age 27, was a Tokyo policeman. He worked at the Beika 5th district police box, as Megure's subordinate. He was a serious, kind, and good person, and was well-respected in the town. However, before being soon transferred to the Criminal Division of Beika Police Station, which was his long-cherished wish, he committed the murder of Zenkichi Ooka, a corrupt security guard who blackmailed him for a past gambling. He was found out by the famous Sleeping Kogoro and arrested by Megure. He appears in The Suspicious Initial K.
Inspector Teraoka
Teraoka (寺岡 Teraoka ), age 40, was the chief police inspector of Tokyo Department 4. He committed the murder of Matsuyama, a gang leader who threatened to reveal how he was taking bribes to reveal information about police operations unless he give him money to allow him to escape from another gambler murder he committed and flee the country. He was married with Misako and tried to use Kogoro, his former subordinate, as an alibi. He was found out by the famous Sleeping Kogoro and arrested by Megure. He appears in the The Third Fingerprint Murder Case.
Detective Tomokawa
Tomokawa (友川 Tomokawa ) is a Tokyo MPD policewoman who works under Megure, tipically the sketch artist from the department. She appears in The Truth Behind the Car Explosion Case.
Detective Tsubaki
Tsubaki (椿 Tsubaki ) is a police officer from the Shimane Prefecture Police who works as Yasugi's assistant. A big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro, he is very pleased to investigate something for him instead of Yasugi. He appears in The 14th Round of the Matsue Tamatsukuri Linked Verse Contest.
Hiroshi Tsurumi
Hiroshi Tsurumi (鶴見 博 Tsurumi Hiroshi ), age 27, is a sergeant of Yamaguchi North police station, Yamaguchi Prefecture. He appears in Bakumatsu Revolution Mystery Tour.
Detective Tsuyama
Tsuyama (津山 Tsuyama ) is a police detective from the Okayama Prefecture Police and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He doesn't want Conan and the Detective Boys on the crime scene, but having discovered the body they are obliged to assist in an investigation. Conan calls him with Kogoro's voice, asking him to ask Agasa to explain everything, because the professor had an exceptional mystery solving ability, comparable to his own. In the police car, he explains to the culprit that only him can destroy the demons in his heart. His name comes from a city in that prefecture.[19] He appears in Momotarou Mystery Solving Tour.
Kenji Wakai
Kenji Wakai (若井 健児 Wakai Kenji ), age 28, is a police officer from the Harii Station Police and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He has the ambition to aim for the chair of the Prefectural Police Headquarters and Superintendent General in the future. He appears in The Streetcar's Sudden Stopping Case.
Nobuto Washiyama
Nobuto Washiyama (鷲山 信人 Washiyama Nobuto ), age 46, is an assistant-inspector of Yamaguchi Prefecture. He appears in Bakumatsu Revolution Mystery Tour.
Koichi Yamabe
Koichi Yamabe (山部 浩一 Yamabe Kōichi ), age 28[5], is a Tokyo police officer who works under Megure. He is a former rifle marksman on Japan's Olympic team, with the skill to pop a balloon attached to a radio-controlled boat that moves from the roof of a building. He is one of the police officers on holiday during Golden Week with his girlfriend Eri. He appears in The Mysterious Shooting Message Case.

Taro Yamada
Taro Yamada (山田 太郎 Yamada Tarō ) is a police officer from Tokyo MPD Fuchu Police station seven years ago. His name is shown on a girl's missing report in Police Academy Arc Wild Police Story CASE. Hiromitsu Morofushi, but not in the manga.
Detective Yamane
Yamane (山根 Yamane ) is a police officer from Izumo Police Station, Shimane Prefecture, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He doesn't allow outsiders to come in the crime scene. He can also go in Matsue. He appears in Sword of the Eight-Headed Serpent.
Katsuhiko Yamane
Katsuhiko Yamane (山根 勝彦 Yamane Katsuhiko ), age 36, is a detective from Kurayoshi Station, Tottori Prefecture. He is a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro and they worked together once on a robbery investigation when Ran's father worked for the MPD. He is always bragging about Kogoro with his subordinates. He appears in Tottori Sand Dunes Mystery Tour.
Futoshi Yamasato
Futoshi Yamasato (山里 太志 Yamasato Futoshi ), age 28, is a police officer stationed at the Beika City 4th block police box and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. A good and serious man, when Kogoro gets drunk and offers him a drink, he refuses being on duty. He is a big fan of the idol Kayoko Kakurai, who is also his love interest. He appears in The Idol Whose Smile Disappeared.
Tan Yamazumi
Tan Yamazumi (山住 炭 Yamazumi Tan ), age 35, is an officer from Shimizu police station, Shizuoka Prefecture, and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He appears in Turning Point on a Driving Date.
Detective Yasugi
Yasugi (安来 Yasugi ) is a detective from the Shimane Prefecture Police and a big fan of the famous Sleeping Kogoro. His name comes from a city in that prefecture.[14] He appears in The 14th Round of the Matsue Tamatsukuri Linked Verse Contest.
Haruhiko Yoshida
Haruhiko Yoshida (吉田 春彦 Yoshida Haruhiko ) is a Tokyo MPD police officer who works under Megure. He appears in The False Kidnapping and Hostage Case.[16]

Detective Konno
Konno (紺野 Kon'no ) is part of Division II of the Tokyo MPD. He often directs the other officers to carry out Nakamori's orders. Kaitou Kid disguises as him in the special version. He is the only Nakamori's subordinate to express very openly his disappointment for his head's total incapacity to arrest Kaitou Kid, preferring a lot more to collaborate with Saguru and Shinichi, whose he is a big fan. Naturally, for this insubordinate behavior, Nakamori always swells him as exemplary punishment. He appears in The Splendid Rivals, The Reminiscent Golden Eye, and other Magic Kaito episodes.

Masayoshi Moria
Masayoshi Moria (森亜 正義 Moria Masayoshi ) is a police detective from Beika station, Tokyo MPD. The must he hates most are detectives: all they tell the police is how great they are and just what achievements they've made. However, after discovered his relation with the Osaka police, and also for Sato's presence, he is very pleased to cooperate with Heiji and Shinichi. He appears in Drama Episode 9.
Chief Tamagawa

He is 10,000 times more stubborn and hard-headed than Megure, and is known as the non-negotiable, Everest of the prefectural police.
