Beach House (海の家 Umi no Ie) is the 1098th chapter of the manga of Detective Conan. It was written by Gosho Aoyama, drawn by him and his assistants and first released in Shōnen Sunday #36-37/2022 on August 3, 2022 and has been published as part of Volume 103 on April 12, 2023.

Plot
The Shizuoka police are investigating the death of Katsunori Usui at the beach house, led by Sango Yokomizo and his assistant detective Tsukumo. Usui was strangled. Conan suspects that the murder weapon is the blanket he was wrapped in, since the distances between the Yoshikawa lines on Usui's neck match the blood stains on the edge of the blanket. If the perpetrator wasn't wearing gloves, there should be fingerprints on the blanket. Tsukumo wonders if Conan is really still an elementary school student, but Yokomizo explains that Kogoro is usually behind Conan's words, but this time Kogoro isn't there. Instead, Conan claims that the conclusions come from Subaru. Tsukumo reprimands Rumi Wakasa for keeping a closer eye on her students and not letting them wander around crime scenes, as this would make it more difficult to narrow down the suspects, but Haibara points out that only the three employees of the beach house are suspects, since only these three people had keys to the back room. Yokomizo has their fingerprints and handprints taken and then questions them.
Maika Kayaki says that at the time of the crime, she was at a vending machine far away, since that is the only place where you can get the pineapple juice that Usui wanted. Yokomizo asks if the pineapple juice was all gone because there wasn't enough in stock or because the juice sold too well; Maika replies that the juices all cost 200 yen, which is why they don't pay attention to the different types when billing. Takaki Koriyama was in the back room at the time of the crime and was sleeping, although he actually wanted to play games on his cell phone, but after eating some snacks and drinking grapefruit juice, he became dead tired and fell asleep, which often happens to him after consuming grapefruit juice. At the time of the crime, Sakura Menda was on her way to her grandmother's house to bring her medicine, but she had forgotten the house key and didn't want to wake her grandmother from her afternoon nap, so she returned to the beach house empty-handed. There she made preparations for the evening shift until Maika came back and they found the body together. Yokomizo concludes that none of the three suspects have an alibi.
Conan asks Sakura if her grandmother's medicine for high blood pressure is called nifedipine, and if Usui had also drunk grapefruit juice. Koriyama wants to know what role that plays, so Haibara explains that nifedipine is a calcium antagonist. However, grapefruit juice contains components that weaken the effect of calcium antagonists, which makes the medicine more effective and can therefore cause a rapid drop in high blood pressure. This could be the reason why Usui and Koriyama fell asleep so quickly and didn't wake up again for a while. Yokomizo asks how the drug was administered into the grapefruit juice; Subaru explains that this probably happened via the straw on the juice carton. The perpetrator would only have to fill the straw with a crushed tablet and attach it to the carton with glue. To ensure that Usui really gets a prepared straw, all the cartons were prepared; for guests, the juice is not served in the carton, but in plastic cups with ice and other straws, so they were not in danger of drinking prepared juice. Subaru suspects that the perpetrator removed the other straws after the murder and disposed of them. Yokomizo has Tsukumo check this. Koriyama accuses Sakura of the crime because the drugs belong to her, but Sakura had recently lost a carton of the drugs, which could have been theft by the perpetrator, so Maika and Koriyama are also still suspects.
Rumi, meanwhile, is impressed by Haibara's knowledge of drugs and stares at her intensely. Conan jumps in and says that Haibara got her knowledge from the professor, who always explains the most absurd things to them. Rumi is satisfied with that, but continues to stare intently at Haibara and says that Haibara almost seemed like a real scientist, which surprised Rumi. Haibara just stares back without saying a word.
Tsukumo comes back and reports that a blanket is missing from the guest area of the beach house, the one the Detective Boys were sitting on. The children are afraid that their fingerprints will make them suspects, but Haibara reassures them that they didn't hold the blanket tightly, so there shouldn't be any fingerprints. Just then, one of the straps of Genta's tank top rips, causing it to hang down on one side; Ayumi comments that this makes him look like an ancient Roman. "Gripped tightly" and "like an ancient Roman" remind Conan of something he had seen on the internet. He looks on his cell phone and has a sudden inspiration. Meanwhile, Yokomizo gets the results of the forensic investigation. Koriyama's fingerprints were found on the blanket that Usui was strangled with. While Koriyama protests his innocence, Conan has realized the truth behind the case.
