Sometimes characters on this list may have other minor background appearances, but those appearances generally aren't significant to consider them as recurring characters. Characters who have made multiple appearances in the manga are listed on minor recurring manga characters and those who have reoccurred in the anime or movies are listed on minor recurring anime characters.

Genji Kojima is first met by Conan and the other Detective Boys during a "Super Kojima" contest, which is actually a front for the show's sponsor, an eccentric industrialist named Gonsaku Kojima, to find the thief of a highly-priced painting who had also murdered his beloved dog. However, the plan turns into a homicide case when the sponsor is murdered- and Genta's father, as one of the three finalists, becomes one of the suspects in the case. Conan, however, manages to prove Genji's innocence and reveal the identity of the real culprit, who promptly denies the confession he has just made. However, Genji trips him up and confronts him so aggressively that the delinquent meekly admits his guilt and is subsequently arrested.

Midori was also a member of a girl gang, and her best friend ended up the first fatality, so since the culprit had not been caught after a while she decided to help apprehend the killer and volunteered to act as a decoy. Jinpei Matsuda was originally a member of the Tokyo Police bomb squadron. His partner Hagiwara was killed four years previously by a serial bomber who had sworn revenge on the police for the accidental death of his partner. When the killer resurfaced three years ago, Matsuda's superiors, fearing that he would become reckless due to personal interest, transferred him to Inspector Megure's department, where he was promptly partnered with Miwako Sato, then a stll-fledging detective.

Sato was at first put off by his direct manner, but then the bomber appeared in their district less than a week later, depositing an explosive charge in a Ferris wheel at an amusement park. When Matsuda attempted to disarm the bomb, the killer trapped him inside and revealed the existence of yet another bomb hidden in the city. As the countdown of the Ferris wheel bomb would wind down, the name of the second bomb's location would be gradually displayed, claiming a policeman's life for the life of innocents, as the bomber had intended. Matsuda sent the bomb location to Sato via SMS just as the final seconds ran out, his last thoughts being regret that he would not be able to drink to his partner's memory following the apprehension of the culprit.

Matsuda's death haunted Sato for years to come, as she had fallen in love with him, and she kept his final message on her cell phone as a reminder of him. When the bomb killer was finally caught by her and Takagi, she managed to put behind the haunt of her past, though she promised herself never to forget about Matsuda.

Upon his transfer to the Tokyo Metropolian Police, Sato found Matsuda rather blunt and aloof, since he spoke out his mind no matter what anybody would think. However, despite his personal interest in the case which eventually claimed his life, Matsuda remained cool and professional, placing the safety of Sato (for whom he had come to care as well) and innocents over his own life - qualities which had won Sato's heart.

When Yoko Araide was exposed as the murderer, Conan - through his use of the "Sleeping Kogoro" - suggested that Hikaru's unknowing involvement in Dr. Araide's murder be kept secret, lest it would cause her a serious shock if she found out that she had helped killing her employer. When Vermouth decided to infiltrate the Beika area disguised as Dr. Araide, she attempted to have Tomoaki and his family eliminated. Hara is the main game programmer for the Tokiwa Corporation in Twin Tower Buildings.  He invented and programmed many games for the company, some of which the Detective Boys enjoyed greatly.  One of his many inventions include a machine that creates a picture of what you would look like ten years later.  He was recruited by the Black Organization for his hacking skills, but when he was caught hacking into the Organizations's main computers and retracting the data, Gin met him in his house and shot him at point blank range.  Gin and Vodka later erased all the data from his home computer and blew up the Twin Tower's main computer room to avoid any information being leaked.

Unlike most Black Organization members, Hara is a friendly man who isn't very violent in any way.  He was recruited without much choice, and he never really got the dark Black Organization blood flowing through him.  He was, in fact, planning on finding out what the Organization's true intentions were and betray them, but was killed in the process.  As described by Tokiwa Mio, Hara can be very "childish".  Hara was caught eating chocolate, and even gave a few pieces to the Detective Boys.  He even let the Detective Boys help work on a new game he was programming.  Unfortunately, Hara was shot by Gin before that could happen.

He is voiced by Koichi Hashimoto in the Japanese version and Jakie Cabe in the FUNimation dub.

Irish
Irish is a Black Organization member who appears as the main antagonist and eponymous Raven Chaser in Movie 13.  He was killed by Chianti.

Not much is known about Irish, except that he had a lot of respect for Pisco.  It is stated that Pisco was like a father to Irish.  Pisco was an elderly member of the Black Organization who was killed by Gin.  Ever since, Irish has had a strong grudge against Gin.  It is not known if Irish ever killed anyone, but it is assumed that he had in the past.

Irish wasn't a very high ranking member, though he was quite smart.  It is very apparent that Irish lacked a high rank in the organization when Gin cold-heartedly ordered Chianti to shoot him.  Irish had managed to find out Conan was actually Shinichi relatively quickly. Ran arrived at Tokyo Tower and found Irish (still disguised as Matsumoto) brutally beating Conan. He shot a bullet at her, but she dodged it and gush out a gun from his hand. Then the fight began, Irish rashly attacked Ran assigning a hard kick on her face and when he was to complete, Ran mow him down and tried to concentrate. This time, Irish's next hard attacks were successfully stoped by Ran and she used karate, but a kick to his face teared off part of his mask, thus surprised her. Irish used this to his advantage and overpowered Ran. As it is seen during the duel with Ran, Irish was a very harsh person and wasn't afraid to hit a girl. In fight, Irish was very reliable of his own strength, he didn't prefered any techniques and never took defense position. His strong body he used and tall size gave him additional advantage. Like Gin and Vermouth, Irish had a high pain tolerance. When Ran kicked him, part of his mask was torn off. He became furious and reciprocated more powerful kick to her. Beside that Ran's kick allowed him to enjoy the fight even more. For anoher example: when Chianti shot him, he was seroiuly injured by the bullet and was barely alive. Conan tried to drag him to safety but Gin noticed him and tried to shoot him. Irish protected him and died. It is very possible that Pisco's death may have caused Irish's cold-blooded and harsh personality. He didn't hesitated when he shot a bullet at Ran and he hit Conan so hard that he flew a few meters away and collapsed on the floor. Even after that Irish just continued beating him. Throughout the series it seems that Makoto and Irish are the only who can defeat Ran in fight.

Irish was also a master of disguise.  He disguised as Kiyonaga Matsumoto as he investigated the true identity of Conan.

Irish looks up to and admires Pisco.  He is therefore devastated when Pisco is cold-hearted killed by Gin. The four other Organization members (Gin, Vodka, Chianti, and Korn) seem to look down on Irish.  Gin doesn't hesitate when he orders Chianti to shoot him.  Chianti doesn't question Gin's assassination command and Korn, who usually remains silent, says that he wanted to shoot him, hinting that he wouldn't think twice about killing Irish.

Beside Vermouth, Irish is the only member of the Black Organization who showed respect for Conan. When Chianti shot Irish, Conan tried to drag him to safety while he was still alive but Chianti shot again and Irish protected him and died. His final words to Conan were, "Kudo Shinichi...Keep...coming after us...".

He is voiced by Yuji Mikimoto.

Generic, is a Black Organization member that was exclusively in the Special Manga of Detective Conan, the series that is not written by Gosho Aoyama.

Generic was abandoned by his parents while he was a young child and the Black Organization, seeing his incredible intelligence, adopted him at the age of 13. While in the Black Organization, he was often picked on due to his cowardly personality but Sherry (while still in the Black Organization) saved him a couple of times.  After this he always come and help Sherry with her experiments.

However, he was given orders to leave Sherry alone and to make a new drug that controls memories. The organization planned to use this drug on all important people of the world, ergo having complete control of the world.

After Sherry ran away, he followed suit and began tracking her down.  He stole APTX-4869 before Sherry's lab was destroyed and took it, therefore turning into a six year old child. He then searched all elementary schools and found out where she was in hopes they can live together in a new life by altering the memories of a couple who had lost their child in a accident.

While in the Black Organization he was often picked on by the other members due to his cowardly personality. However, Sherry protected him a few times, and he soon began to look at her as more of an older sister than a coworker. It is also possible that he has developed romantic feelings for her when he states that he wants to run away live together with her and even goes as far as trying to erase her memory to do so.

Natsuki Koshimizu
Natsuki Koshimizu (20) was a High School Detective from Fukuoka, the capital of the Fukuoka Prefecture on Kyūshū, the southernmost island of the Japanese mainland. It is not known for how long exactly she has been engaged in investigative work; according to her own statement, however, she was a relative newcomer, with only 100 solved cases on her credit.

One year ago, a year after Natsuki had finished high school, a wealthy socialite was found hanged inside her manor house. The police and Natsuki concluded at first that she must have committed suicide (as she really had), but some time later Junya Tokitsu, another high school detective, appeared on the scene and declared that her death was actually a murder. This was a serious misconception, as Junya had fallen for a trick prepared by a burglar after the murder, but it was enough for the police to open a murder investigation. The only suspect in the case was the lady's young housemaid, Natsuki's best friend. She was repeatedly and harshly questioned by the police, and even though no conclusive evidence could be brought up against her, the girl cracked under the strain and eventually committed suicide.

Because Junya later realized that his deduction had been false, he asked to remain anonymous, and so Natsuki had only few scant clues to work with as she set out to avenge her friend's death. She finally decided to arrange a fake detectives' reality TV competition (Detective Koshien), with the most reputable High School Detectives attending; next to Junya and herself, this included Heiji Hattori and Shinichi Kudo (who could attend only as Conan Edogawa), and Saguru Hakuba, who had been asked to fill in for Shinichi. She arranged for her trap to be sprung on a remote island, cutting off all connections to the mainland while she sought to find the culprit.

Natsuki finally worked out that Junya was the person responsible and killed him by bashing his head with a hammer when he demonstrated his callousness and self-interest about the past case with no feelings of remorse whatsoever. She also trapped herself and her entourage on the island to die of starvation, since two of them - the burglar who had unintentionally backed up Junya's claims, by using the trick he discovered, to try stealing from the manor; and the manor's butler who had refused to clear the case out of misguided affection for the lady, since he didn't want people to know she was mentally ill due to the huge prejudices against mental illnesses in Japan - were also (if more indirectly) responsible for her friend's death. Conan and Heiji managed to expose her as the culprit, and she quietly allowed herself to be given to the authorities, but not before expressing her deepest respect for the two and the hope of working with them some time in the future.

Natsuki is apparently a capable investigator; however, as the Detective Koshien Case has proven, she tends to be extremely stubborn and single-minded if a case touches her personally, and she pursues the culprit(s) relentlessly until they are brought to justice. Though she is by no means a thoroughly evil person, but actually a gentle and considerate character, her persistance does tend to cloud her judgement at times. On her plus side, she is a careful planner and strategist, as well as being a natural actress.

Natsuki has also apparently developed a closer personal interest in Heiji Hattori for his impulsive, but ultimately dedicated demeanor.

She is the keyhole character for Volume 54. She is voiced by Risa Hayamizu.

Junya Tokitsu
Junya Tokitsu (18) was the High School Detective representing the North in the Detective Koshien that Conan Edogawa, Heiji Hattori, Saguru Hakuba and Natsuki Koshimizu attended. Though he was born in Tokyo, he grew up in Hokkaido. He had handled approximately 300 cases, where more than 250 people were arrested and prosecuted while got away and committed suicide. He was invited to participate in the Detective Koshien by a fake Nichiuri director.

After excusing himself to prepare his deductions for the first round case, he was later found dead in his room. It was locked room murder case. The suspects were Koshimizu, Kouya and Tsuchio. Later, Conan found out the murderer. Koshimizu Natsuki killed Tokitsu Junya and used the same locked room trick that was used in the Lavender Murder Case.

Tokitsu Junya was the detective involved during that case who unfortunately made wrong deductions saying that it was murder case even though it was actually a suicide. He realized that his deduction was wrong but didn't correct himself; that caused Natsuki's friend to be suspected and later commit suicide. When Natsuki confronted him on it, Junya showed little to no remorse, which sent her over the edge and caused her to beat him to death with a hammer.

Tokitsu has rather odd speech patterns, referring to himself as shousei (小生). This is a rather archaic, self-deprecating form of "I" used by males with equals and subordinates; nowadays it's rare, but still used sometimes in letters and such. This is actually quite important to the plot, since Natsuki's friend noticed how unusual it was and told Natsuki that "a highschool detective with an odd accent" was the one who mistakenly got her accused for the Lavender Murder Case. Not knowing the name of said "highschool detective", which wasn't released to the press due to being a minor, Natsuki gathered a group of sleuths fitting the description: Tokitsu, Hakuba (whose Japanese was odd-sounding due to living abroad), and Heiji (who has a strong Osaka accent).

He is voiced by Miki Shinichirou.

Minerva Glass (22) is an excellent tennis player from London, England.

When she was younger she lived in Japan. She placed first in Wimbledon for five consecutive years. She was ranked Number 1 and earned the name 'Grass Court Queen'.

Her father was German and her mother was English. Her father and little sister died an a traffic accident eight years prior to the current storyline. She has a younger brother named Apollo. She was coached by Ares Ashley, who was coached by her father. Ares quit coaching Minerva (although he liked her) because he blamed himself for her dad's death, since the he had died in the traffic accident when he'd been on his way to watch Ares's match. This saddened Minerva greatly.

After four consecutive years of domination at Wimbledon, Minerva was once again involved in it, vying for the top spot. A murderer named Hades put a bomb in Wimbledon in order to get revenge on Minerva's mother, whom he blamed for losing all his possessions after he lost a bet that Minerva would win a certain tennis match, which led to his mother being unavle to have surgery, which resulted in her death (Minerva lost the match because her mother wasn't there to encourage her).

Minerva met Ran and later Kogoro. During the match, Minerva received a note from Hades telling her he was targeting her mother. She began placing her serves in certain order and places, leaving a message in braille which Conan deciphered. Using his help, the culprit was caught and Minerva won the match for the fifth consecutive year.

Minerva later met Ran and Kogoro at the airport before they left to go back to Japan so she can thank Ran for her e-mail. She was very happy, thanks to the e-mail as well as the fact that Ares planned to become a tennis player again and had received a reply to an e-mail she had sent him.

Minerva is very friendly and cheerful. She took the trouble of going to the airport before Ran and Kogoro left for Japan in order to thank Ran for an e-mail she had sent her. She is an excellent tennis player, being able to calculate the placements of her serves in order to make a code which she hoped someone would figure out and come rescue her.

Her name is a reference to the Roman goddess Minerva (or Athena in Greek) as she has Apollo for her brother, her mother named Juno (Hera in Greek) and a coach named Ares. She is the keyhole character for Volume 71.

Latest revision as of 03:59, 11 September 2024

This is a list of minor characters in Detective Conan whose one time appearance in a manga case or episode made a notable impact on the plot of the main storyline or influenced the main characters in some way. This list excludes main characters, main law enforcement, the canon Black Organization, and mystery people related to the arc (e.g. Eisuke or Araide).
